LEONARDTOWN, Md. (January 17, 2012)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
THEFT LESS THAN $1,000: On Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 12:45pm, TFC E. M. Evans responded to the Wal-Mart on Miramar Way in California for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with loss prevention staff who advised that a female was observed concealing items and then attempted to leave the store without making a purchase. The suspect was stopped upon exiting the store and detained until TFC Evans' arrival. Contact was made with the female suspect, identified as Anita Katherine Emery, 23, of California. Based on information provided by Ms. Emery she was placed under arrest for Theft Under $1,000.00 and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Ms. Emery was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. All items were recovered and returned to Wal-Mart Loss Prevention.
DRUG ARREST: On Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 2:35pm, TFC E. J. Page conducted a traffic stop on a Buick in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Maryland Route 245 for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the vehicle, the operator was identified as Norman Kenneth Dickerson, Jr., 30, of Chaptico. Mr. Dickerson exited the vehicle for a roadside interview, upon exiting, TFC Page observed in plain view a clear container with an unknown substance. The items being contained was determined to be synthetic marijuana. Mr. Dickerson was placed under arrest for Possession of CDS - Not Marijuana and the items were seized. A search incident to arrest also revealed a large amount of U.S. Currency in the center console of the vehicle. Mr. Dickerson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 5:54pm, TFC B. T. Wiesemann served a Bench Warrant (T3-15304) on Gina Patricia Kennedy, 23, of Tall Timbers. The warrant was issued for Ms. Kennedy's arrest on January 6, 2012 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Theft Less Than $100.00. Ms. Kennedy was located in the area of Wheatley Apartment Way and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review on the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 3:50am, TFC M. J. Pitcher served a Bench Warrant (T3-15308) on William Russell Hobbs, 23, of Callaway. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving Uninsured Vehicle by the District Court of St. Mary's County on January 13, 2012. Mr. Hobbs was located as a passenger in a broken down vehicle in the area of Maryland Route 4 and Old Saint Andrews Church Road in California. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was service and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
