LA PLATA, Md. (January 17, 2012)The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
THREE CHARGED WITH POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE DRUGS: On Jan. 13 at 10:37 p.m., officers initiated a traffic stop near Chicamuxen Road and Bicknell Road after observing a speeding violation. Upon approaching the car, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana. Officers located marijuana, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Darryl Dominique Thomas, 23, Shelton Devon Johnson, 24, and Ciera Lakia Randolph, 21, all of Bryans Road, were charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs. Officer F. Davis made the arrest.
FIRST-DEGREE ASSAULT: On Jan. 13 at 9:56 p.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of St. Thomas Drive in Waldorf for the report of a shooting victim. Officers located the victim, 31, and found he had a gunshot wound to his leg. He advised officers he had been shot moments earlier on Robinson Place. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and treated. Detectives say the motive is still being determined but the shooting was not random. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.
THEFT/CREDIT CARD FRAUD: Between Jan. 11 - Jan. 12, an unknown suspect found a wallet in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in Waldorf. He used one of the credit cards in the wallet to purchase gift cards at various grocery stores throughout the county. Detectives are working on leads. Officer B. Clark is investigating.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Jan. 11 at 6 a.m., officers arrested Eric Devin Jones, 22, of Waldorf, in connection with an open warrant charging him with violation of probation relating to a possession with intent to distribute charge. Jones was arrested in the area of St. Charles Parkway and Gallery Place.
