MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (December 19, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, December 1 at 4:30pm, TFC A. J. Malaspina conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Laurel Grove Road for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator, he was identified as Samuel Charles Raimond, 54, of Hollywood. Mr. Raimond was uncooperative in providing answers and information as requested by TFC Malaspina, and was subsequently asked to exit the vehicle. While outside of the vehicle, Mr. Raimond attempted to handle items in his pockets multiple times after being advised not to, a pat down of Mr. Raimond's person was conducted. The pat down revealed packaged CDS in his right front pocket. Mr. Raimond was subsequently arrested for Possession of CDS - Marijuana. Mr. Raimond was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, December 2 at 8:12am, TFC N. E. Gresko conducted a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Old Village Road in Mechanicsville for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the vehicle, TFC Gresko identified the occupants as a juvenile male, 17, of Brandywine and a juvenile male, 15, of Brandywine. While speaking with both subjects, the odor of burnt marijuana was detected emitting from the vehicle. Upon the arrival of additional units, a search of both occupants and the vehicle was conducted. The search of the juvenile male, 15, revealed CDS on his person. Additionally, the search of the vehicle revealed CDS in the glove box. Both subjects were placed under arrest for Possession of CDS, and transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack. They were charged accordingly and released to a guardian pending further action by Juvenile Services.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, December 3 at 9:00pm, Tpr. E. R. Mersman conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Golden Beach Road for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator, Douglas Gary Hall, 23, of Fort Washington, Tpr. Mersman detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Additional occupants of the vehicle were also identified, including, Timothy Price Lewis, 22, of Temple Hills, Christopher Anthony Garvin, 25, of Suitland, and Dehrias Armani Gross, 20, of Fort Washington. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted revealing CDS in the center console of the vehicle. All subjects were placed under arrest for Possession of CDS - Marijuana and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. They were charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

MALICIOUS DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Saturday, December 3 at 11:24pm, TFC J. C. Hardesty responded to the 42000 block of Calvert Circle in Mechanicsville for a reported property destruction. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 20, of Mechanicsville, who advised she was awaiting the arrival of other parties at her location when she observed a male subject cut her tire and walk off. The complainant was unable to identify the subject. Shortly thereafter, an additional broadcast for a property destruction and assault was dispatched by the Emergency Communication Center. TFC B. T. Wiesemann responded to the scene of that call, and detained Michael Allen Hinman, 25, of Mechanicsville, the subject believed to be responsible for the destruction of property. A witness to the second destruction of property as well as the original complainant, were able to positively identify Mr. Hinman. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, December 15 at 9:00am, TFC A. J. Malaspina served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15273) on Christopher Paul Moore, 41, of Coltons Point. The warrant was a Fugitive Arrest Warrant issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County as a result of Mr. Moore being a Fugitive from Justice from Florida. Mr. Moore was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was held pending extradition.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, December 16 at 8:13pm, TFC M. J. Pitcher served an Arrest Warrant (T3-14084) on David Anthony Thompson, 46, of Great Mills. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Second Degree Assault on August 18, 2009 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Thompson was located on the scene of an accident in the area of Maryland Route 4 and Saint Andrews Church Road. He was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, December 18 at 7:15pm, TFC J. A. Pilkerton served a Bench Warrant (T3-15229) on Bethany Nicole Gearheart, 20, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued on November 18 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. Ms. Gearheart was located in the 18000 block of Cherryfield Drive in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was processed and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
