LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 22, 2011)The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.
THEFT LESS THAN $100: On Thursday, November 3 at 3:00pm, Tpr. S. M. Morton responded to the Family Dollar on Merchants Lane in Leonardtown for a reported theft. Upon arrival, an employee of the establishment advised that the complainant, 58, of Clements, followed the two female suspects from the establishment to another local establishment. Tpr. Morton responded to the additional store and made contact with the complainant, whom advised that he observed the two subjects concealing merchandise in their handbags while in the Family Dollar store. The complainant was able to identify both subjects to Tpr. Morton. Contact was made with both subjects, who were escorted out of the store where they were identified as LaQuesha Nicola Countiss, 20, of Waldorf, and Kamisha Raquel Thomas, 19, of Lexington Park. Both subjects opened their purses revealing various merchandise from both the Family Dollar and the Food Lion. Ms. Thomas and Ms. Countiss were both placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were charged accordingly. The stolen merchandise was returned to the appropriate establishments.
ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Thursday, November 3 at 3:03pm, Cpl. M. W. Laney responded to the 21000 block of Winding Way in Lexington Park for a reported domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with Priscilla Marie Scriber, 25, of Lexington Park who advised she was involved in an altercation with Joseph Francis Chase, III, 38, of Lexington Park. Ms. Scriber provided Cpl. Laney with her version of the incident that ensued upon Mr. Chase's arrival to the residence. Following receiving information from Ms. Scriber, Cpl. Laney made contact with two additional witnesses who provided accounts of the events. Based on the information provided by Ms. Scriber, Mr. Chase, and the two witnesses, Ms. Scriber was placed under arrest for Second Degree Assault. However, a MVA query revealed that there was an active protective order on file prohibiting Mr. Chase from having contact with Ms. Scriber; subsequently he was placed under arrest for Violation of Protective Order. Both subjects were transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where they were charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
THEFT LESS THAN $100: On Thursday, November 3 at 4:00pm, TFC R. L. Jackson responded to the McKays Food & Drug in Leonardtown for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Upon arrival, contact was made with loss prevention personnel who advised a male juvenile, 17, of Lexington Park was observed exiting the establishment with food that had not been purchased. Contact was made with the juvenile after exiting the store and he was detained pending police arrival to the scene. The items were returned to the store and disposed as they could not be re-sold. The juvenile was placed under arrest for Theft Under $100.00 and transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack where he was processed accordingly. The juvenile was released from the Barrack to a guardian pending further action by juvenile services.
DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, November 5 at 2:58pm, TFC E. J. Page stopped a red Ford in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Maryland Route 236 for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with the operator, Michael Neal Golden, 39, of Mechanicsville. While speaking with Mr. Golden, TFC Page detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was performed revealing marijuana on Mr. Golden's person and additional CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Golden was arrested for Possession of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, November 13 at 10:25pm, TFC S. M. Van Bennekum served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15214) on Wallace James Thacker, 44, of Lusby. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Theft $1000.00 to $10,000.00 by the District Court of Charles County on September 23. Mr. Thacker was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, November 14 at 3:15am, TFC R. L. Jackson served a Bench Warrant (T3-15200) on William Russell Hobbs, 23, of Callaway. The warrant was issued on November 2 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving Uninsured Vehicle. Mr. Hobbs turned himself in and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, November 15 at 1:10am, TFC J. G. Fleetwood served a Bench Warrant (T3-15216) on Jason Andrew Drury, 30, of Waldorf. The warrant was issued on November 4 by the District Court of Charles County with an original charge of Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol. Mr. Drury was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, November 15 at 2:10pm, TFC J. C. Hardesty served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15129) on Demetrius Wendell Dickens, 19, of Piney Point. The warrant was issued with an original charge of CDS Possession With Intent to Distribute on September 14 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Dickens was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, November 16 at 8:00am, TFC J. A. Pilkerton served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-15215) on Leanna Iesha Nelson, 38, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued on November 9 by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of First Degree Burglary. Ms. Nelson was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, November 17 at 12:10am, TFC M. A. Moore served a Bench Warrant (T3-15221) on Leanna Iesha Rothery, 38, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on November 16 with an original charge of Driving While Under the Influence. Ms. Rothery was already incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and went before the District Court Commissioner for a bond review.
DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, November 6 at 9:23am, TFC S. M. Van Bennekum conducted a traffic stop on a Cadillac in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Mechanicsville Road. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with the operator, Zehra Senel Oztas, 24, of Lexington Park. While speaking with Ms. Oztas, TFC Van Bennekum detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Additional units responded to the scene and probable cause search was performed. Results of the search included a marijuana cigarette in the front passenger seat of the vehicle. Ms. Oztas was placed under arrest for Possession of CDS. During the arrest and following, Ms. Oztas was defiant and uncooperative. She was ultimately transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
THEFT UNDER $100: On Tuesday, November 8 at 12:25pm, TFC S. M. Van Bennekum responded to the Belk Department Store in the 23000 block of Three Notch Road for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with Loss Prevention staff who advised she observed a female subject, identified as Sabrina Claire Fong, 19, of Mechanicsville, try on a ring in the jewelry department of the store. Ms. Fong then moved to the shoe department at which time she placed the ring inside of her open purse. After a shoe purchase, Ms. Fong was observed clearing all points of sale and attempting to exit the establishment without purchasing the ring. Ms. Fong was issued a Criminal Citation and a mandatory court appearance date. Merchandise was returned to Loss Prevention and Ms. Fong was released from the scene.
THEFT UNDER $100: On Wednesday, November 9 at 7:43pm, Tpr. S. M. Morton initiated a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger in the area of Maryland Route 5 and New Market Road for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, contact was made with the operator Latese Keyana Hicks, 25, of Lexington Park. An MVA query on the vehicle revealed an expired registration, however, the registration stickers displayed were active. Further inspection of the stickers revealed that the stickers did not belong to the vehicle. Unable to confirm some of the information being provided, Tpr. Morton issued Ms. Hicks the appropriate citations and released her from the scene. Information provided by Ms. Hicks as well as information obtained through investigation revealed that the vehicle being operated was previously stolen and returned to the owner. However, following the return of the vehicle, a sticker was stolen and placed on the vehicle. Following her investigation, Tpr. Morton responded to the 21000 block of Castaway Circle in Lexington Park where she made contact with Ms. Hicks. Ms. Hicks was charged on a criminal citation with Theft Less Than $100.00. She was issued a mandatory court date and released on the scene.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, November 17 at 8:30pm, TFC E. J. Page served a Bench Warrant (T3-14894) on Devone M. Thompson, 21, of Loveville. The warrant was issued with an original charge of CDS Possession - Marijuana on April 12 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Thompson was located in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Baptist Church Road. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, November 17 at 9:00pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-15176) on Shameka Levea Harrod, 19, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Ms. Harrod's arrest on October 12 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving Without A License. Ms. Harrod was located in the 46000 block of Yorktown Road in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, November 18 at 1:30pm, Cpl. F. Logsdon served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15118) on Sherman Sherwood Stewart, Jr., 25, of an Unknown Fixed Address. The warrant was issued on August 29 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Malicious Destruction of Property. Mr. Stewart was located in the area of Maryland Route 246 and Kay Drive in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, November 18 at 6:30pm, TFC G. A. Thompson served a Bench Warrant (T3-15228) on Brian Todd Cooper, 49, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving While Under the Influence on November 18 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Cooper was located in the 27000 block of Tin Top School Road in Mechanicsville and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, November 19 at 9:00am, TFC R. L. Jackson served two outstanding Arrest Warrants (T3-15230 / T3-15231) on Peter Lewis Orazio, 23, of Lexington Park. The warrant (T3-15230) was issued for Mr. Orazio's arrest on November 6 by the District Court of Calvert County. The original charge was Unauthorized Removal of Property and Driving Without Owner's Consent With Intent to Deprive Owner. Warrant (T3-15231) was issued on November 18 with an original charge of driving Without Required License. Mr. Orazio was located when he responded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack for Community Service. A routine MVA and NCIC query revealed the outstanding warrant. Following confirmation, Mr. Orazio was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
