LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 15, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.


CORNER LIQUORS ROBBED, SUSPECT WANTED: On November 7 at approximately 2:01 p.m., an African-American male entered the business office of Corner Liquors, located in Lexington Park, and stole U.S. currency from the office. Upon being discovered in the office area, the unknown suspect pushed an employee and fled out the rear of the store on foot. The suspect (See above video surveillance photograph) is described as being between 6-2 and 6-4 inches tall, dark complexion, wearing a dark in color baseball style cap, dark pants, black and white shoes and a dark colored jacket with an unknown white logo on the upper right shoulder. THEFT: On November 12, a broadcast was made for a theft in progress at the Old Mill located at 26000 Yowaiski Mill Road in Mechanicsville. Deputies responding to the area received another broadcast advising a red Ford truck bearing Maryland registration was leaving the scene with stolen metal in the bed of the truck. Corporal Connelly observed the suspect vehicle traveling on Mechanicsville Road and conducted an investigative traffic stop on the vehicle. Christopher Ryan Kobilis, 25, of Mechanicsville was identified as the driver of the vehicle and Brian Christopher Kirk, 31, was identified as a passenger in the vehicle. The victim arrived at the scene and identified the suspect vehicle as the vehicle located on his property stealing items. The victim also identified items in the bed of the truck as belonging to him. Kobilis and Kirk were arrested and charged with Theft and Trespassing.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On November 12, deputies responded to a residence in Bushwood for a report of a violation of a Protective Order. Investigation revealed Dawn Chere Beckwith, 34, of Chaptico, made contact by telephone with the victim which is a violation of a protective order issued on November 8. DFC Watters was located Beckwith at a residence on Hatchet Thicket Road. She was arrested and charged with Violation of a Protective Order.

FALSE REPORT: On November 12 at approximately 7:53 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in Mechanicsville, for a robbery report. Investigation revealed Lawrence David Tillman, 26, of Mechanicsville, reported that as he was walking along Three Notch Road, Mechanicsville, near his residence he was assaulted by two masked men wielding a baseball bat and knife. Tillman advised the two assailants robbed him of the prescription medication he was carrying in his pocket. After further investigation and questioning it was determined Tillman fabricated the story. Tillman was arrested and charged with False Statement.

DRUG ARREST: On November 12, Deputy Snyder responded to the Quick Shop located at 21265 Great Mills Road, Lexington Park, for a crowd control complaint. Prior to this complaint Deputy Snyder responded to three other crowd control complaints and noticed the same black Chevrolet Blazer at all locations. Deputy Snyder check the tag on the Blazer through the Maryland Vehicle Administration and discovered that the tag to be registered to a 1993 Jeep. Deputy Snyder conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the driver as Shawn Roosevelt Thompson, Sr., 30, of Chaptico. Deputy Snyder smelled an odor of an alcoholic beverage on Thompson's breath and person. Deputy Snyder administered Field Sobriety Tests; as a result of the tests Thompson was arrested for Driving under the Influence. A search of Thompson's vehicle, incident to his arrest revealed suspected marijuana in the center console of the vehicle. Thompson was additionally charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On November 12, at approximately 2:00 a.m. deputies responded to Friendly's Sports Bar for a disturbance. Deputy Foor arrived in the parking lot and observed Craig Wesley Norton, 40, of Lexington Park, and Tavoy Kelly Summerville, 33, of Lexington Park, actively involved in a fight. Norton and Summerville failed to obey several orders to stop fighting. Deputy Foor arrested Norton and Summerville. Both were charged with Disorderly Conduct and Second Degree Assault.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On November 12, at approximately 9:00 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in Lexington Park, for a domestic assault report. Investigation revealed Robert Eugene White, 47, of Lexington Park was involved in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when White grabbed the victim's cell phone and threw it against a wall. White pushed the victim to the ground. Deputy Rogers arrived and determined White also violated an active Protective Order. Deputy Rogers arrested White and charged him with Second Degree Assault and Violation of Protective Order.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On November 12, at approximately 8:45 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in Lexington Park, for an assault report. The investigation revealed Dionta Quantiaus Taylor, 24, of Lexington Park, was attempting to leave the residence in a vehicle which he did not own nor had permission to use. Taylor had been consuming alcoholic beverages and did not possess a driver's license. As the victim was trying to prevent Taylor from taking her vehicle, he punched her in the left side of her chest and grabbed her left arm. Deputy Foor arrested Taylor and charged him with Second Degree Assault.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On November 13, at approximately 5:30 a.m. deputies responded to the Wawa located at 30320 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, for a disturbance call. Deputy Milam arrived and located Meagen Elizabeth Clark, 22, of Waldorf, at the entrance to the Manager's Office yelling and banging on the order machine screen with her fist. Clark was told by the manager to leave the store but she refused. Deputy Milam escorted Clark outside where she began yelling profanities which drew the attention of other customers. Clark was escorted off the property by police but immediately returned. Clark was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct, Failing to Obey a Lawful Order and Trespassing.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On November 13, at approximately 10:15 p.m., Deputy Snyder responded to a residence on Great Mills Road for a report of a domestic assault. Investigation revealed William James Kolton, 47, of Great Mills, was involved in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault when Kolton began choking the victim. A third party tried to intervene to protect the victim and was assaulted by Kolton. Deputy Snyder arrested Kolton and charged him with two counts of second degree assault.
