LA PLATA, Md. (November 10, 2011)—The McDonough High School Madrigal Lords and Ladies choir has been selected to perform with the Washington Chorus for “A Candlelight Christmas” at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall on Dec. 20 and Dec. 22. The school is located in located in Pomfret, Charles County.
The concerts feature Yuletide classics, sing-a-longs and a glorious candlelight processional. The Madrigal Lords and Ladies Chamber Choir will perform a short set of music and then join the Washington Chorus for the second half of the concert. The Washington Chorus is holding a section of seats at a discounted price for Charles County Public Schools staff and families. Discounted tickets are $30 and can be purchased by calling 202-342-6221. Tickets must be purchased by Tuesday, Dec. 16.
The Madrigal Lords and Ladies will also perform at the Mormon Visitor’s Center in Kensington, Maryland for their “Festival of Lights” program. The event will be on Dec. 7, with the choir performing at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.
The mission of The Washington Chorus (TWC) is to preserve and advance the art of choral singing and share the experience of the transforming power of choral music. TWC does this by performing at the highest artistic level in the nation’s capital and before diverse national and international audiences, and by nurturing the next generation of choral singers.
