LEONARDTOWN, Md. (November 10, 2011)—Ms. Jessie DeLorme, fourth grade teacher at Park Hall Elementary School, was honored as a Maryland Council of Teachers of Mathematics Teacher of the Year at the awards banquet in Turf Valley on Thursday, October 20. The school system released this statement about Delorme: "Ms. DeLorme is an outstanding teacher who listens and learns from her students as they learn from her. She exemplifies the St. Mary's County Public Schools' mission of accepting no excuses and educating all with rigor, relevance, respect and positive relationships. Ms. DeLorme set out in her teaching career to teach students, but soon learned that it was her students that taught her to be a better teacher."
