PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (November 3, 2011) - The Calvert County Department of Public Works is hosting a public informational meeting on the Dowell Road widening improvements project on Monday, Nov. 14, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Calvert Marine Museum Auditorium in Solomons.
The $7 million project will include wider travel lanes for Dowell Road, a turning center lane from MD Rt. 765 to Annmarie Garden, bikeable lanes, street lighting, sidewalks, curbs and gutters, drainage and safety enhancements. Construction is anticipated to start in July, 2013.
At the public meeting, representatives from the Department of Public Works and the project consultant, URS Engineering, Inc., will present details of the proposed project. Residents can learn how individual properties will benefit from the proposed improvements. Public input is vital in helping finalize construction plans for the project.
