CALIFORNIA, Md. (October 6, 2011)—Local governments have announced schedule changes in observance of Columbus Day on Monday, October 10.
CALVERT COUNTY
All Calvert County government offices will be closed Monday, October 10.
The Calvert Pines, Southern Pines and North Beach senior centers will be closed October 10. Meals on Wheels will be delivered to clients.
All Calvert Library locations will be closed Monday, October 10.
There will be no public transportation services October 10. Regular service will resume Tuesday, October 11.
All Solid Waste facilities will be open and operating on normal business hours on Monday, October 10.
CHARLES COUNTY
The offices of Charles County Government and the Tri-County Animal Shelter in Hughesville will be closed on Monday, October 10.
The holiday will not affect curbside yard waste or blue bin recycling collection schedules. The Charles County landfill on Billingsley Road and recycling centers will be open for normal operating hours. The Crain Memorial Welcome Center located at 12480 Crain Highway in Newburg will be open for normal operating hours, 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Call 301-259-2500 to contact the Welcome Center.

ST. MARY'S COUNTY
St. Mary's County Government Offices will be closed on Monday, October 10. County offices will re-open on Tuesday, October 11.
The St. Andrews Landfill, six Convenience Centers and St. Mary's Transit System will be open normal business hours on Monday, October 10.
All Senior Activity Centers and the three St. Mary's County Libraries will be closed on Monday, October 10. There will also be no Meals on Wheels delivery.
