St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (September 30, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

PROBATION VIOLATION: On September 28, Detectives from the St. Mary's Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) Special Victim's Unit apprehended registered sex offender Eric Jon Okrasinski, 42, at his residence in Mechanicsville on a violation of probation warrant. The warrant was being held by the Division of Corrections and the defendant was transported to the Maryland State Police Barrack for transfer to the Division of Corrections.

BURGLARY ARRESTS: On September 14, police units responded to a private residence in Hollywood for the report of a burglary. The victim reported numerous items had been stolen from the residence while she was away during the day. The case was forwarded to BCI for investigation. On September 21, BCI detectives executed a search and seizure warrant on a private residence in Leonardtown and recovered several stolen items taken during the burglary. Charles Anthony Gegor, 34, and Michelle Dawn Horton-Odell, 36, both of Leonardtown, were arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary, Theft over $1,000, and Theft under $1,000. Horton-Odell was also served an arrest warrant for Violation of an Ex-Parte Order. Both subjects were incarcerated in the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review before the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT: On September 28 at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a residence on Fox Ridge Road in Lexington Park for a report of an assault. Deputy Flerlage responded to the scene and made contact with the victim. Investigation revealed Ryan Christopher Conyers, Jr., 30, of Lexington Park, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim. The verbal dispute escalated into a physical assault when Conyers struck the victim in the face, arms and legs. Conyers was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

DRUG ARREST: On September 29, Jonathan Litee Chase, Jr., 18, of Chaptico, was stopped by Deputy William Wood for speeding on Great Mills Road in Lexington Park. Upon making contact with Chase, Deputy Wood detected an odor of marijuana emitting from Chase's vehicle. During a consent search of Chase's person, Deputy Wood located a baggie containing suspected marijuana in Chase's pants pocket. Chase was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance - suspected marijuana.

HOME INVASION ARRESTS: On September 11, officers responded to a residence in Lexington Park for the report of a home invasion and assault. The victim was discovered suffering from head and facial injuries and transferred to Washington Hospital Trauma Center. BCI Detectives responded and assumed the investigation. During the investigation it was determined three males entered the victim's residence, struck the victim several times with a blunt object, and stole property of the victim from the residence. Three suspects were subsequently identified and arrested. Dontavious J. Holley, 20, of Lexington Park, Lamonte J. Morgan, 19, of Callaway, and Jonathan M. Barnes, 19, of Callaway, were charged with Armed Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery and incarcerated in the detention center. All three suspects remain incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review in District Court.
