MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (September 26, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, September 22 at 12:25 p.m., Tpr. S. M. Ditoto served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15139) on Holly Ruth Brown, 27, of an Unknown Fixed Address. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Theft Less Than $1000.00 by the District Court of Calvert County on August 24. Ms. Brown was located in District Court and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, September 23 at 2:56 p.m., TFC M. A. Moore served an Arrest Warrant (T3-15124) on Norris Gilliam, 36, of Great Mills. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on September 7 with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. Mr. Gilliam turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 1ST DEGREE: On Saturday, September 24 at 1:04 a.m., TFC J. S. Gibson responded to the 45000 block of Military Lane in California for a reported disturbance. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 29, of Lexington Park who advised he was stabbed in the face by a female subject after being involved in a dispute. Statements were provided by the victim and two additional witnesses. Accounts of the incident confirmed that the female suspect forced entry into an apartment and then assaulted the male subject with a knife. The male subject was transported to St. Mary's Hospital for medical attention. Following photographing the scene and receiving statements, TFC Gibson responded to the 46000 block of Columbus Drive in Lexington Park to make contact with the suspect. Attempts to locate the suspect where unsuccessful, however, information was obtained that indicated she may be attempting to leave the country in the coming days. Lookouts were broadcasted in surrounding areas and additional police work was conducted ultimately leading to the arrest of Leanna Iesha Nelson-Rothery, 38, of Lexington Park on September 24 at 10:45am. Ms. Nelson-Rothery was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, September 24 at 2:07 p.m., Tpr. S. M. Ditoto conducted a traffic stop on a purple Dodge in the area of Maryland Route 246 and Saratoga Drive for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, Tpr. Ditoto made contact with the operator Karen Bien Jones, 23, of Mechanicsville. A MVA query of Ms. Jones' driving status indicated that her driving privileges were suspended in Maryland. Subsequently, Ms. Jones was placed under arrest for Driving On A Suspended License. During a search incident to arrest, Ms. Jones informed Tpr. Ditoto that she had CDS located on her person. Ms. Jones was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack where a secondary search was performed by Cpl. K. M. Rossignol. The secondary search revealed Marijuana on Ms. Jones' person. Ms. Jones was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
