MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (September 18, 2011)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: On Sept. 7 at 6:40 p.m., Trooper First Class Hunt responded to the Calvert County Public Library on Costley Way in Prince Frederick for a reported theft. The victim reported her purse was stolen while using the computer. Investigation continues.

BURGLARY: On Sept. 8 at 5:52 p.m., Trooper First Class Hunt responded to the 4000 block of Ferry Landing Drive in Dunkirk for a reported burglary. A box of jewelry, a camera, and two laptop computers were removed from the residence. Investigation continues.

HIGH SPEED PURSUIT: Assult and Drug Charges Placed: On 9/8/11 at 3:53 p.m., Trooper Oles stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 4 at Lore Rd. in Solomons. The driver did not have proper identification and provided a false name to the Trooper. The driver then drove away and a pursuit began. The pursuit continued across the Solomons Bridge, continued north on Route 235 and north on Route 5. During the pursuit, the driver drove towards an officer on foot who was attempting to use a tire deflating device on the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle suffered a flat tire and lost control on Route 5 at the Hughesville bypass. The driver fled on foot but was apprehended. The driver, Terry Gene Brown, 47 of Capitol Heights was arrested and charged with assault, possession of drugs and numerous traffic violations. He also had numerous open warrants in several counties and in Virginia. The passenger, Paula Krauchuk, 49 of Washington, DC, was also arrested and charged with possession of drugs. Both were incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRIBUTE MARIJUANA: On Sept. 10 at 12:05 a.m., Trooper First Class Evans stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Rt. 4 at Sixes Road in Prince Frederick. A search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of marijuana, pills and a digital scale. Robert L. McWhirt, 19 of St. Leonard, and Jordan P. Difatta, 19 of Lusby, were placed under arrest and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT, RESISTING ARREST, ASSAULT: On Sept. 10 at 8:53 p.m., Trooper First Class Logsdon responded to the Calypso Bay Bar in Solomons for a report of a disorderly subject. David M. Williams, 53 of Rockville, was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center. During the arrest process, the subject resisted arrest and spit on the Trooper.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On Sept. 11 at 7:51 a.m., Trooper Casarella responded Huntingtown High School for a reported destruction of property. A vehicle was driven through the softball field causing damage to the grass and infield. Investigation continues.
