LA PLATA, Md. (September 14, 2011)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

OFF-DUTY SHERIFF'S DETECTIVE APPREHENDS ROBBERY SUSPECT: On Sept. 12 at 11:32 a.m., officers responded to Berry Road Cleaners, 10225 Berry Road, Waldorf, for the report of an armed robbery that just occurred. According to an employee, a woman entered the business, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The employee grabbed the gun but the woman pulled the weapon away and fled in a light-colored Lincoln Town car. A lookout was broadcast and Det. D. Gross of the Charles County Sheriff's Office spotted the car traveling on Route 210. Det. Gross, who was off-duty, initiated a traffic stop but the driver refused to pull over. She was eventually stopped near the 8300 block of Indian Head Highway in Accokeek. A gun was observed inside the car. The driver, Tomika Marie Butler, 27, of Washington, D.C., was arrested and positively identified as the suspect in the robbery. She was charged with first-degree assault, attempt robbery, and use of a handgun in commission with a crime. She was remanded to the Charles County Detention Center with $50,000 bond. Det. P. Tona is investigating.

PATROL OFFICERS APPREHEND BURGLARY SUSPECTS: On Sept. 9 at 4:42 a.m., a witness called police and alerted them to a burglary in progress at a residence in the 2600 block of Hamilton Place in Waldorf. Charles County Sheriff's officers arrived and established a perimeter. One of the suspects, a 15-year-old, was spotted by Officer Mayhew who apprehended him without incident. A K-9 team arrived and conducted a track which led to the recovery of evidence connected to the burglary. A preliminary investigation showed the suspects broke into the house and stole game systems. Detectives are continuing their efforts to identify additional suspects.

ATTEMPT BURGLARY: On Sept. 10 at 12:10 a.m., officers responded to All Pawn in the 1000 block of Middleport Lane in White Plains for the report of an attempt burglary. Investigation showed the suspect shattered the front glass of the store and attempted to gain entry but was unsuccessful. Officers responded and processed the scene. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.

ATTEMPT THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLES: On Sept. 9, during the overnight hours, unknown suspect(s) broke the side vent windows and damaged the steering column of a car parked in the 2400 block of Lake Drive in Waldorf and another car parked in the area of Holton Woods Drive. Officer T. Smith is investigating.

OFFICERS APPREHEND BURGLARY SUSPECT: On Sept. 9 at 2:25 a.m., a witness called the Charles County Sheriff's Office and reported a burglary in progress at Bryans Road Liquor in the 3100 block of Marshall Hall Road, Bryans Road. When Officer Bledsoe arrived, he observed damage to the front door. Witnesses directed the officer to a nearby convenience store where he located the suspect. Jill Andre-A Harris, 45, of Bryans Road, was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary.
