PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (August 31, 2011)—The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of August 22 through August 28 deputies of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office responded to 1,680 calls for service throughout the community.
BURGLARY: Unknown suspect(s) burglarized a home on Thunderbird Drive in Lusby sometime overnight between August 23 and 24. A black Toshiba laptop computer, gray Arctic parka and a gray backpack, together valued at $1280, were stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC Waldron at 410-535-2800.
BURGLARY: A home on Bella Vista Drive in Owings was burglarized during the day between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on August 24. The culprit(s) stole a Kawasaki cordless drill, a 12 volt DeWalt cordless drill and 18 volt DeWalt cordless drill, a Bosch pneumatic nail gun, one Northern Tools circular saw, a Porta Cable orbital sander, 5 red handled Husky pliers, together valued at over $1000 from the home. Dep. N. Funchion is investigating.
TAMPERING: Someone entered an unlocked vehicle and rummaged through it but took nothing while it was parked outside a home on Santa Rosa Road in Lusby in the early morning hours of August 24. DFC R. Weems is investigating.
BURGLARY: Unknown suspect(s) used force to enter a home on August 26 between 8:00 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. while no one was home and stole over $3000 worth of items to include a Playstation 3, 20 games and a red laptop computer. DFC Aurich is investigating.
BURGLARY: DFC P. Wood responded to a home on Plains Road in Lusby for a burglary report. Sometime between 7:15 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. someone entered the home and stole $2660 worth of items including a MSI laptop computer, 2 Kindle readers, an LG Cosmos cell phone and jewelry. Anyone with information regarding a burglary is asked to contact Sgt. Naughton of C.I.T. at 410-535-1600 ext. 2593.
DRUG ARREST: On August 3 at 6:00 p.m., detectives of the Calvert Investigative Team Drug Enforcement Unit, assisted by members of the Calvert County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Team, executed a search warrant on a home on Ashwood Drive in Dunkirk for suspected criminal drug activity. Numerous drug related items including equipment used for growing marijuana, smoking devices, and a Glock 9mm handgun and ammunition were seized. Police arrested Jesse Lee McCelvey, 26 of Dunkirk, on the scene and charged him with possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony, possession of marijuana, and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a homemade smoking device.
