LA PLATA, Md. (August 31, 2011)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On Aug. 29 between 5:30 a.m. - 6:40 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 4500 block of Grouse Place in Waldorf and stole tools and jewelry. The scene was processed for evidence. Officer J. Feldman is investigating.

THEFT: On Aug 29, during the overnight hours, unknown suspects stole the wheels and rims from a Nissan Maxima which was parked in the area of Promenade Place at Aldersgate Place in Waldorf. The vehicle was left sitting on cinder blocks when the owner found it. Cpl. J. Williams is investigating.

RECKLESS DRIVING: On Aug. 29 at 1:17 a.m. Cpl. J. Timko observed a Chevrolet Suburban going at a high rate of speed on Hawthorne Road. Cpl. Timko tried to catch up with the vehicle, but lost sight of it. As Cpl. Timko continued on Hawthorne Road, he observed the SUV from a distance turn onto Arlough Place where the driver apparently lost control and struck several trees. The driver bailed out of the vehicle and fled prior to the officer's arrival. Four passengers were inside the car. One person was transported to the hospital and treated for a minor injury sustained in the crash. The driver, Devon Curtis, 20, of Marbury, came back to the scene claiming he was there to help his friends and that he was not in the vehicle. He was covered in dirt and his pant legs were wet. It was later determined that Curtis was indeed the driver and he fled because he did not have a driver's license. Curtis was arrested and charged with multiple traffic violations. A passenger, Stanley Hatton, 33, of Marbury, was also arrested after he became disorderly. While Hatton was being transported, he kicked and broke equipment in the police cruiser. He was charged with disorderly conduct, destruction of property and failure to obey a lawful order.

POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: On Aug. 26 at 1 p.m., Detective J. Burroughs and PFC. T. Yates were conducting patrols near Drake Court in Waldorf when they observed a male behaving suspiciously. Upon approaching the subject, the man indicated he had drug paraphernalia in his pocket. He also gave officers a false name. As officers investigated further, the man fled but was apprehended a short distance away. Officers recovered a smoking device in his pocket. The suspect, Tyrone Nathanial Williams, 23, of Waldorf, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He also had an open warrant through Washington, D.C.

BURGLARY/DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Between July 27 - Aug 23, unknown suspect(s) broke into a vacant house in the 6500 block of Cornell Road in Bryans Road and damaged several mirrors and walls. The scene was processed for evidence. Cpl. R. Kuhnow is investigating.

BURGLARY: On Aug. 23 between 4:15 a.m. - 7:21 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 100 block of Riverwatch Drive in Indian Head and stole two televisions. The scene was processed for evidence. Officer M. Bourgeois is investigating.
