Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (August 18, 2011)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On Aug. 18 at 3:38 a.m., officers responded to National Tire and Battery, 2395 Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers discovered the front glass had been shattered. A store employee responded and advised some coins had been stolen. Then, at about 4:01 a.m., officers received an alarm call at Mr. Tire at 2225 Crain Highway. Officers discovered unknown suspect(s) threw a cinder block through the front window, gained entry and stole a small amount of cash. Officers processed the scene for evidence. Anyone with information is asked to call the Charles County Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222. Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspects.

BURGLARY SUSPECTS IDENTIFIED: On August 17 between 7:30 a.m. - 5:25 p.m., officers responded to the 6400 block of Thomas Court in Avenue for a burglary report. Investigation revealed the suspects broke into a house and stole a checkbook. As officers canvassed the area, they received a call from Prince Georges' County authorities who caught two males trying to cash checks that belonged to the victim. The property was recovered and charges are pending. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating.

BURGLARY: Between Aug. 4 - Aug. 17, unknown suspect(s) broke into a house that was being renovated in the 6100 block of Bumpy Oak Road in La Plata and stole copper piping. The scene was processed for evidence. Officer P. Hood is investigating.

BURGLARY: Between Aug. 15 - Aug. 16, unknown suspect(s) broke into a house in the 2200 block of Reverdy Farm Road in Indian Head and stole long guns and change. The scene was processed for evidence. Cpl. C. Walter is investigating.
