St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (August 17, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

FIRST DEGREE ASSAULT: On August 12, Shameka Nichol Stevens, 26, of Hollywood, was served with a protective order commanding that she have no contact with the petitioner of the order. Shortly after Stevens was served with the order, she attempted to strike the petitioner with her vehicle. She missed striking the victim, but struck the victim's vehicle, which was then pushed into another vehicle. The assault occurred in the parking lot of the District Court building located in Leonardtown. Deputies responded and arrested Stevens. Stevens was charged with one count of first degree assault, two counts of second degree assault, reckless endangerment, and destruction of property.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On August 13, deputies responded to Beachville Road in St. Inigoes for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Meaghan Lee Kemp, 22, of St. Inigoes, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim. The verbal dispute escalated into a physical assault when Kemp slammed the victim's hand in a door. Kemp was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

TRESPASSING: On August 13, deputies responded to a residence on Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown. Investigation revealed Bryan David Bradhurst, 55, of no fixed address, was asked to leave the victim's property. Bradhurst initially complied but then returned a short time later, entered onto the victim's property and attempted to gain entry into the victim's locked vehicle. Bradhurst was arrested and charged with trespassing.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA, RESISTING ARREST: On August 14, deputies were investigating a suspicious vehicle in the area of St. Leonard Street in Lexington Park. The driver of the suspicious vehicle was identified as Carlos Douglas White, 27, of Lexington Park. A check of White's driving license status revealed White's privilege to operate a motor vehicle was revoked. White attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after a short foot chase. Further investigation revealed White was in possession of suspected marijuana. White was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, resisting arrest and driving while revoked.

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On August 14, deputies responded to Leesa Court in Lexington Park for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Nicholas Olanda Waul was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim. The verbal dispute escalated into a physical assault when Waul struck the victim in the face. Waul was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On August 15, deputies responded to a residence of Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville for a report of a destruction of property. As deputies were attempting to investigate the complaint, Tamara Elizabeth Higgs, 42, of Mechanicsville, was yelling and making verbal threatens towards the victim. Higgs was warned by deputies to stop her disorderly behavior. She refused and was arrested for disorderly conduct.
