Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (August 4, 2011)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT FROM AUTO: Between August 3 at 8 p.m. - August 4 at 5:15 a.m., unknown suspects broke into a truck in the 2200 block of Westwood Drive in Waldorf and stole electronics. The suspects also found the key to the vehicle's wheel locks and removed four chrome rims and 18" tires. The vehicle was left on four landscape pavers. Officer R. Williams is investigating.

ATTEMPT THEFT OF WHEELS: On August 4 at 1:47 a.m., unknown suspects attempted to steal four wheels from a Cadillac Escalade parked in the 1900 block of Black Oak Court in Waldorf. The car owner heard her dog barking and looked outside a window where she observed a group of males around her vehicle. The suspects fled upon being detected. Officers processed the scene and discovered the wheels on the car had been loosened and four cinder blocks were found nearby. Officer L. Elliott is investigating.

BURGLARY: Between August 1 at 6 p.m. - August 3 at 7:40 p.m., unknown suspects broke into a house in the 2300 block of Tawny Drive in Waldorf and stole football memorabilia and currency. Officer P. Morgan is investigating.

BURGLARY: Between August 2 at 7 p.m. - August 3 at 10:30 a.m., unknown suspects broke into a vacant house in the 6800 block of Orchard View Place in Waldorf and stole a furnace. Officer R. Johnson is investigating.
