MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (July 19, 2011)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF OXYCODONE AND CDS PARAPHERNALIA: On July 8 at 10:25 a.m., Trooper First Class Evans stopped a vehicle for traffic violations Steeple Chase Drive at Armory Road in Prince Frederick. A search of the vehicle revealed that Lealyson Page Wright, 19, of St. Leonard, was in possession of oxycodone and CDS paraphernalia. She was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

THEFT: On July 11 at 9:12 a.m., Trooper Oles responded to the Food Lion in Prince Frederick for a reported theft. The victim reported her purse was stolen while at a produce stand on Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick. Investigation continues.

THEFT: On July 11 at 1:41 p.m., Trooper Esnes responded to the 7400 block of Sedwick Court in St. Leonard for a reported theft. The rear registration tag (6AH7245) was removed from the victim's vehicle while the vehicle was disabled near Parran Road in St. Leonard. Investigation continues.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On July 12 at 11:16 a.m., Trooper First Class Hunt responded to the 3100 block of Howard Drive in Port Republic for a reported destruction of property to a vehicle. The victim returned home to find the side view mirror was broken and numerous scratches were on the passenger side door and hood. Investigation continues.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY AND THEFT: On July 14 at 5:56 a.m., Trooper Esnes responded to the 5700 block of Long Beach Drive in St. Leonard for a report of destruction of property. Several vehicles at residences on Long Beach Drive were observed to have slashed tires. Additionally, a mailbox was broken off and a cell phone and other items were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On July 14 at 11:47 p.m., Trooper First Class R. Lewis investigated a suspicious vehicle parked at the Lower Marlboro Pier. When approaching the vehicle, the odor of marijuana was emitting from within the vehicle. Edwin Alexander, 36 of Clinton, MD, was found to be in possession of marijuana. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

Warrant Service/Possession of pills : On July 16 at 4:14 a.m., Trooper Costello stopped a vehicle on Broomes Island Road for traffic violations. The driver, Charles C. Blessing III, 35, of East Earl, Penna., was arrested for an open warrant through Worcester County. A search revealed that Blessing was in possession of pills. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

Burglary and Theft: On July 16 at 11:55 a.m., Trooper S. Lewis responded to the 2400 block of Hallowing Point Road in Barstow for a reported theft. The victim reported two firearms were stolen from the home. Investigation continues.

Possession of Pills & DUI: July 16 at 6:20 p.m., Trooper First Class R. Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 4 near Sherry Lane in Prince Frederick. The driver, David A. Shaffer, 34, of Port Republic, was found to be intoxicated. He also was in possession of pills. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

Possession of Marijuana: On July 13 at 11:23 a.m., Trooper Oles stopped a vehicle on Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick for traffic violations. A prescription bottle containing marijuana was observed when the driver was retrieving the registration. The owner reported that several others had recently been in the vehicle with her daughter. Investigation revealed the marijuana belonged to Robert L. Morgart, 46, of Chesapeake Beach. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
