Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (July 19, 2011)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DEATH INVESTIGATION: On July 17 at 8:34 p.m., officers were called to the 5600 block of Serenity Lane in Marbury for the report of an accident on private property. A preliminary investigation showed the victim, Pietro Lorenzo Flaim, 29, of Marbury, was operating an excavator and helping a neighbor remove a large oak tree when the tree fell and landed on the cab portion of the excavator. Emergency workers responded but Flaim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Officer M. Mellott investigated.

MAN ARRESTED IN BURGLARY AND THEFT: On July 18 at 11:39 a.m., officers responded to the area of Glymont Road in Indian Head for the report of a theft in progress. When officers arrived, witnesses told them Earl Hart, 38, of Indian Head had removed several pieces of scrap metal from the property and placed it in his truck. The stolen property was located and returned to the owner. Hart was charged with burglary. Officer M. Vanhorn investigated.

BURGLARY: On July 16 at 2:11 a.m., an unknown suspect stole a 2007 Ford Explorer from the 4200 block of Ray Drive in Pomfret. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene for evidence. Officer D. Chandler is investigating.

OFFICERS ARREST THEFT SUSPECTS: On July 15 at 11:45 p.m., officers observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Chaney building in Waldorf. They watched two occupants exit the car and walk to the old Embassy Dairy on Mattawoman Drive. The driver of the car then drove to the adjacent wood line where the passengers later returned. Officers stopped the car as it exited the parking lot and found stolen scrap metals inside. Megan Krystal Wilson, 20, Rodney Louis Jones, 39, and Ashley Nicole Davis, 20, of Waldorf were charged with burglary. Detectives Wimberly and Long investigated.
