MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (July 8, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Friday, July 1 at 5:43pm, Cpl. P. A. Trossbach responded to the area of West Patuxent Beach Road and North Patuxent Beach Road for a check welfare of a subject possibly sleeping behind the wheel of a vehicle. Upon arrival, Cpl. Trossbach observed a male subject, later identified as Jeffrey Donald Hephner, 30, of Leonardtown, sleeping in a Ford Ranger that was parked in the travel portion of the road. When Mr. Hephner was awakened, he appeared incoherent and advised he wasn't aware of his location. Information provided by Mr. Hephner confirmed that he was under the influence of CDS, a probable cause search of the vehicle revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Hephner was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, July 2 at 1:05am, TFC N. E. Gresko initiated a traffic stop on a gray Oldsmobile station wagon in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Maryland Route 472 for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator, Steven Michael Knight, 19, of Hollywood, and two additional occupants of the vehicle, TFC Gresko detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle and its occupants was conducted. The results revealed CDS and CDS Paraphernalia in the vehicle as well as on Mr. Knight's person. Mr. Knight was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 5 at 1:50pm, TFC E. J. Page served a Bench Warrant (T3-15021) on Clayton Lewis Quade, 25, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Mr. Quade's arrest on July 1 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Fourth Degree Burglary. Mr. Quade was located in the 21000 block of Liberty Street in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, July 5 at 10:54pm, TFC G. A. Thompson served a Bench Warrant (T3-15022) on Daniel Brian Evans, 24, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Mr. Evans' arrest on July 1 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Second Degree Assault. Mr. Evans was located in the 46000 block of Midway Drive in Lexington Park and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, July 6 at 11:14am, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling served a Bench Warrant (T3-14999) on Russell Wilfred Dufour, 48, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving While Impaired by Alcohol on June 15 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Dufour was located while at the District Court of St. Mary's County and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, July 6 at 2:28pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served an Arrest Warrant (T3-14947) on Mark Anthony Robinson, 44, of an unknown fixed address. Mr. Robinson was wanted for Driving On A Suspended License. The warrant was issued on May 11 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Robinson was located while already incarcerated at the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, July 7 at 10:15am, TFC S. M. Van Bennekum served a Bench Warrant (T3-15027) on Chanese Lachelle Matthews, 24, of Lusby. The warrant was issued for Ms. Matthew's arrest on March 10 by the District Court of Calvert County with an original charge of Failing to Pay a Deferred Payment of $400.00. Ms. Matthews was located in the area of Maryland Route 237 and Clipper Drive and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, July 7 at 5:25pm, TFC G. A. Thompson served a Bench Warrant (T3-11694) on Charles Richard Potthast, 49, of Charlotte Hall. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on September 6, 2005 with an original charge of Driving Under the Influence. Mr. Potthast was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
