Stolen BMW Found Torched in St. James


CALIFORNIA, Md. (July 1, 2011)—A 2005 BMW 7 Series, which was reported stolen Thursday evening from Catamarans restaurant in Solomons, was found ablaze just before midnight on Bay Forest Road in St James, St. Mary’s County. The State Fire Marshal's office says it was arson. The fire was reported by a passer-by.

The vehicle was completely destroyed, resulting in an estimated loss of $25,000.

The owner of the vehicle was identified as Stacey Lorenzo Curtis.

Eight firefighters from Ridge VFD responded and extinguished the fire.

Deputy Fire Marshal Melissa Bean conducted the investigation. She was assisted by the Maryland State Police.
