St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 22, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

THEFT: On June 21, Dfc. Nicole Chimko-Fahey responded to the Leonardtown Burchmart for a theft. Dfc. Fahey learned Lewis Tyler Yates, 18, of St. Inigoes, had been stealing cigarettes while employed at the business beginning in May through June 21. Lewis Tyler Yates was arrested and charged with Theft and Theft Scheme.

PROTECTIVE ORDER VIOLATION, PROPERTY DESTRUCTION: On June 21, Dfc. Shaun Carberry responded to a residence in Lexington Park for a disturbance. Upon arrival, Dfc. Cathcart observed Paul Arthur McGinty, Jr. yelling, beating, and kicking the front door of a residence attempting to make entry. Upon speaking with a witness, it was learned McGinty had been in contact with his three children earlier in the day in violation of a protective order. Paul Arthur McGinty, Jr. was arrested and charged with violating a protective order and property destruction under $500. While kicking and banging on the door, McGinty caused damage to the door frame and door strike plate.
