Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (June 22, 2011)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SWEEP: On June 16, members of the Charles County Sheriff's Office/Child Support Unit joined the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office/ Warrant Division and conducted a warrant sweep in both counties. The operation was focused on locating individuals wanted in connection with child support violations. A total of 41 warrants were served.

SECOND-DEGREE ASSAULT REPORTED: On June 19 at 12:04 a.m., officers responded to a convenience store in the 2100 block of Crain Highway in Waldorf for the report of a fight. A preliminary investigation revealed two unknown suspects initiated a verbal argument with the victim, 34. The argument escalated when the suspects pushed the victim and began assaulting him. The victim's acquaintance tried to intervene but she was struck as well. The suspects then fled in a dark colored sedan. Medical personnel responded and treated the victims. Officers canvassed the area and are working on developing additional leads. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY REPORTED: On June 19 at 12:05 a.m., three suspects approached a male who was walking in the area of Irongate Drive in Waldorf. The suspects assaulted the victim, stole his wallet and fled on foot. Officers canvassed the area and located the victim's wallet nearby. Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. T.
