MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (June 21, 2011)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 6/14/11 at 2:36 am, Trooper S. Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 4 at Broomes Island Road in St. Leonard. A K9 scan of the vehicle yielded a positive alert. Based on the alert, a search was conducted and Ijaaz Butler, 18 of St. Leonard, was found to be in possession of Marijuana. He was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY, THEFT: On 6/14/11 at 6:32 pm, Trooper West received a complaint from a victim advising that video games had been stolen from his residence in St. Leonard. Investigation revealed that the stolen games had been sold at Gamestop in Prince Frederick. Investigation continues.

BURGLARY , THEFT: On 6/15/11 at 4:30 pm, Trooper First Class Parker responded to the 12800 block of Laurel Way in Lusby for a reported burglary. The victim's unlocked garage was entered and money was stolen from cars parked inside the garage. Investigation continues.

THEFT, DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: On 6/16/11 at 12:55 pm, Trooper Esnes responded to the 4500 block of Matoaka Lane in St. Leonard for a reported theft and destruction of property. An irrigation pump used to water plants on the property had been damaged. The fuel supply line, starter pull cord and spark plug lines had been cut. A set of hand tools stored next to the pump had been stolen and a small aluminum boat had been stolen. The boat was found nearby, partially submerged in the water. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN, DUI: On 6/16/11 at 8:32 pm, Trooper West responded to a reported traffic collision on Plum Point Road at Kimberly Lane in Huntingtown. Investigation revealed that a vehicle driven by Christopher A. Gasch, 30 of Owings, left the roadway and struck a guardrail. Drug paraphernalia was observed in the vehicle and a search revealed that the driver was in possession of heroin. Gasch was arrested and also charged with driving under the influence of drugs and heroin possession. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY: On 6/17/11 at 8:08 pm, Trooper West responded to the 800 block of Whispering Pines Circle in Lusby for a reported burglary. An unlocked door was entered and a 42" Vizio flat screen TV, a Dell Mini laptop, a set of tires and rims and other items were stolen from the residence and shed. Investigation continues.

POSSESSSION OF MARIJUANA, DUI: On 6/19/11 at 7:50 pm, Trooper First Class R. Lewis responded to the 2500 block of Holland Cliffs Road in Huntingtown for a reported traffic collision. Investigation revealed that the driver, Gregory S. Moscati, 21 of Huntingtown, lost control of his vehicle and struck a mailbox and a telephone pole. He was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and a search revealed that he was in possession of Marijuana. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

SHOPLIFTING, POSSESSION OF DRUGS: On 6/20/11 at 6:45 pm, Trooper First Class Gill responded to ABD Liquor Store in Prince Frederick for a shoplifting complaint. Sharon P. John, 57 of Prince Frederick left the store without paying for a bottle of liquor. Troopers located her in the parking lot of the movie theater nearby and placed her under arrest. A search revealed that she was in possession of pills without a prescription. She was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

OUT OF STATE FUGITIVE: On 6/16/11 at 6:58 am, Trooper Oles responded to an alarm at Jim's Air in Prince Frederick. An employee, Russell C. Bradford, 43 of Huntingtown, was on the scene. A check of his identification revealed that he had an open warrant for his arrest in North Carolina for violation of probation. He was incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.
