St. Mary's County Sheriff's Reports


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 20, 2011)—The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

ASSAULT: On June 17, Deputy Kenneth Ferlage responded to a residence in Mechanicsville for an assault. His investigation revealed Joseph K. Alvey, 43, of Mechanicsville, became involved in an argument with a female victim. During the argument, Alvey shoved the victim in the chest and later struck her in the back of the head causing her to fall. The victim retreated to her motor vehicle and while attempting to leave, Alvey kicked the car door causing damage. Joseph K. Alvey was arrested and charged with second degree assault and property destruction.

THEFT: On June 17, Cpl. William Ray responded to Lowes in California for a theft. Cpl. Ray learned that Anna Drue Mizak, 22, of Lexington Park, was observed by store staff concealing merchandise (12 gauge wire valued at $187.80) in her purse. Mizak was confronted while leaving the business and the merchandise was recovered. Anna Drue Mizak was issued a criminal citation for theft and released pending a court appearance.

THEFT: On June 18, Deputy William Wood responded to Best Buy in California for a theft. Deputy Wood learned that Blanche Thomas Laungayan, 43, of Lexington Park, was observed by store staff concealing merchandise (Video Game valued at $30) in her purse. Laungayan was confronted and the merchandise was recovered. Blanche Thomas Laungayan was charged on a criminal citation with theft and released pending a court appearance.

ASSAULT: On June 18, Deputy Glenn Knott responded to a residence in Lexington Park for a domestic assault. Upon arrival, he learned that Dewayne Cornelius Chisholm, 30, of Lexington Park, became involved in an argument with a female victim. During the argument, Chisholm grabbed the victim around the neck. Dewayne Cornelius Chisholm was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

ASSAULT: On June 18, Deputy Brian Adamo responded to a residence in Lexington Park for a domestic assault. Deputy Adamo learned that John E. Clopper, 3rd, of Lexington Park, became involved in an argument with a female victim. During the argument, Clopper struck the victim with a television remote control and a wooden chair. John E. Clopper 3rd was arrested and charged with second degree assault.

ASSAULT: On June 18, Deputy William Wood responded to the area of Maryland Route 5 and Hunting Quarters for a report of a subject with a knife chasing someone. Upon arrival, the subjects were no longer in the street but were located at a nearby residence. Deputy Wood learned Kaneisha D. Morgan, 21, of Callaway, became involved in an argument with a male victim. During the argument, Morgan bit the victim on the arm then grabbed a knife and chased him out of the residence and around the parking lot attempting to stab him. Kaneisha D. Morgan was arrested and charged with first and second degree assault.

ASSAULT, PROTECTIVE ORDER VIOLATION: On June 19, Cpl. David Corcoran responded to a residence in Leonardtown for an assault. Cpl. Corcorn learned Daniel Lee Gorham, 43, of Leonardtown, became involved in a struggle with his wife over car keys. During the struggle, Gorham assaulted the female victim. Daniel Lee Gorham was arrested and charged with second degree assault and violating a Protective Order which ordered him not to abuse or threaten to abuse the victim.
