Human Remains Discovered in Ches. Bay Sunday


ANNAPOLIS (June 20, 2011) - A boater discovered human remains in the Chesapeake Bay south of the Bay Bridge in Anne Arundel County on Sunday around 11:42 a.m. Units from the Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) and the Coast Guard responded to the scene.

The Coast Guard located the remains and turned them over to the NRP.

Due to decomposition of the body, the age, sex, or race of the victim could not be identified, according to a statement from the NRP.

The remains have been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for autopsy.

NRP’s Special Operations Division is investigating the incident.
