LA PLATA, Md. (June 15, 2011)The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.
MISSING WOMAN LOCATED IN NEW YORK: The Charles County Sheriff's Office has located Atiyat Hassam Walker, 70, of White Plains who was reported missing on June 6. Walker was located on June 14 in Chappaqua, New York after being involved in a minor traffic accident. Officers handling the accident ran Walker's name through a computer data base which showed she had been reported missing from Maryland. Walker will be reunited with family members and returned home.
BURGLARY SUSPECT APPREHENDED: On June 13 at 1:39 a.m., officers responded to TC Martin Elementary School at 6315 Oliver Shop Road in Bryantown for the report of an intrusion alarm. Upon arrival, officers discovered an open window to the rear of the building and they observed a man inside. Officers ordered the male outside where he was apprehended without incident. Brian Jeffery Holt, 19, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with burglary. Nothing was reported stolen. Officer D. Graham investigated.
NARCOTICS ARRESTS: Charles County Sheriff's officers assigned to the Narcotics Enforcement Section recently recovered a large quantity of marijuana and Hashish oil in the Waldorf Area. As a result of their investigation, two people were arrested. The marijuana has an estimated street value of $16,000 and the Hashish oil has an estimated street value of $1,000. The names of the suspects are not being released at this time due to the on going investigation.
CARJACKING: On June 12 at 11:01 p.m., officers responded to the 3100 block of Esser Place in Waldorf for the report of a carjacking. Investigation revealed the victim was exiting his car when two males approached. One male displayed a handgun and demanded the victim's car keys. The victim complied and the suspects fled in the victim's 2003 dark green BMW 745. Anyone with information is asked to call the Charles County Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222. Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspects.
ROBBERY REPORTED: On June 12 at 12:45 a.m., a 25-year-old Laurel man reported he was walking in the area of Bluebird Court and Lancaster Circle in Waldorf when two men approached, displayed a handgun and demanded his money and jewelry. The man complied and the suspects fled in a gold-colored car. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene for evidence. Anyone with information is asked to call (301) 932-2222.
ROBBERY: On June 10 at 6:39 p.m., officers responded to the Home Depot on Jefferson Farm Road for the report of a robbery. Investigation revealed the suspect entered the store through the home and garden area where he approached the clerk with an item. The suspect handed over a note indicating he was armed and he demanded money. The clerk complied and the suspect fled on foot towards Western Parkway. A Sheriff's Office K-9 team responded and conducted a track. Evidence was also recovered. Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. T. Miner at (301) 932-2222. WHEELS STOLEN: Between June 8 at 5:15 a.m. - June 9 at 8 p.m., unknown suspects stole the wheels off of an SUV in the 3800 block of Gateview Place in Waldorf. The suspects left the vehicle on landscaping stones that were taken from the victim's yard. Officer E. Weaver is investigating.
