LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 13, 2011)The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
DRUG ARREST: On Friday, June 10 at 3:08am, Cpl. M. W. Laney initiated a traffic stop on gold vehicle in the area of Valley Drive Estates in Lexington Park for a traffic violation. Upon the vehicle stopping in a parking space on Valley Drive Estates the operator was observed moving from the driver seat to the passenger seat. Subsequently upon approaching the vehicle, Cpl. Laney detained the operator, later identified as Terrell Javon Blackiston, 22, of Leonardtown. Observed in plain view by Cpl. Laney while dealing with the operator and occupants was a hand rolled cigar containing marijuana. Following information provided by Mr. Blackiston and the passengers of the vehicle, Mr. Blackiston was arrested for Possession of CDS and Driving Without A License. Mr. Blackiston was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, June 10 at 4:25pm, TFC M. J. Pitcher, TFC G. A. Thompson and Tpr. S. M. Ditoto served four outstanding Bench Warrants on Shanae Elizabeth Dorsey, 20, of Leonardtown. All warrants were issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Warrant T3-14952 was issued on May 18 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Warrant T3-14972 was issued on June 2 with an original charge of Malicious Destruction of Property. The remaining two warrants (T3-14988 / T3-14989) were issued on June 10 with original charges of Driving Without a License. Ms. Dorsey was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, June 11 at 2:49pm, TFC G. A. Thompson initiated a traffic stop on a red Chevrolet in the area of McIntosh Road and Seabrook Lane in Hollywood for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the vehicle, TFC Thompson detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was performed revealing a glass smoking device in the passenger side door frame. Arrested for possession of CDS Paraphernalia was the passenger of the vehicle, Michael Anthony Surface, 27, of Mechanicsville. Mr. Surface was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, June 12 at 7:51pm, TFC K. D. Lashley served a Bench Warrant (T3-14990) on Walter Charles Jones, 24, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on June 10 with an original charge of Driving Without A License. Mr. Jones was located and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, June 12 at 7:55pm, Tpr. S. M. Ditoto served an Arrest Warrant (T3-14992) on Lazaro Gonzalez, 47, of Opa Locka, Florida. The warrant was issued on June 12 by the District Court of St. Mary's County as a result of Mr. Gonzalez being a Fugitive from Justice - Florida. Mr. Gonzalez's fugitive status is a result of an original charge of Lewd or Lascivious Acts With a Minor. Mr. Gonzalez will remain at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending extradition to Florida.
DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, June 12 at 9:03pm, TFC M. J. Pitcher initiated a traffic stop on a Saturn SUV in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Maryland Route 6 for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the vehicle, TFC Pitcher detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted revealing CDS in the center console of the vehicle. Following information provided by all subjects, the operator, Brent Elliott Johnson, 37, of Nanjemoy, was arrested for Possession of CDS. Mr. Johnson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, June 13 at 12:58am, Tpr. S. M. Morton served a Bench Warrant (T3-14668) on Oscar Manuel Romero, 20, of Leonardtown. The warrant was issued with an original charge of CDS Possession - Paraphernalia on November 8, 2010 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Romero was located in the 22000 block of Gore Street in Leonardtown and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
