MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (June 10, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Monday, June 6 at 7:26am, TFC K. D. Lashley observed a silver Toyota in the travel portion in the area of Frogs Marsh Road at Porto Bello Estates in Drayden. Upon approaching with the vehicle, TFC Lashley observed a male operator slouched over in the seat appearing to be a sleep. Also observed in plain view was CDS Paraphernalia on the subjects lap. The subject was awaken and identified as Michael John Weigand, 35, of Drayden. Mr. Weigand was arrested for Possession of CDS Paraphernalia, a search incident to arrest also revealed additional CDS and CDS Paraphernalia within the vehicle. Mr. Weigand was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 7 at 9:39am, Tpr. R. L. Jackson served a Bench Warrant (T3-14856) on Ahmad Jamal Williams, 50, of Washington, D.C. The warrant was issued on March 22 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Driving Without A Required License. Mr. Williams turned himself into the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 7 at 12:00pm, Tpr. O. Tchi-Ngambu served a Bench Warrant (T3-14975) on Justin Alan Smith, 21, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on June 1 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Smith turned himself into law enforcement personnel and was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 7 at 1:15pm, Tpr. R. L. Jackson served two outstanding warrants on Philip Lynn McCan, 45, of Waldorf. The warrants were issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County and the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County. The warrant (T3-11770) issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County was issued on October 12, 2005 with an original charge of CDS Possession - Not Marijuana. The warrant (T3-11873) issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County was issued on December 21, 2005 with an original charge of CDS Possession - Not Marijuana. Mr. McCan was served and held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, June 7 at 8:45pm, TFC J. C. Hardesty served a Bench Warrant (T3-14980) on Philip Roy Jett, 42, of Brandywine. The warrant was issued on May 24 with an original charge of Second Degree Assault by the District Court of Charles County. The subject was located in the area of Laurel Grove Road in Mechanicsville and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 9 at 11:43am, TFC J. G. Fleetwood served a Circuit Court Warrant on Joseph Charles Swales, 49, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment for a Third Degree Sexual Offense on June 6. Mr. Swales was located at Circuit Court and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 9 at 12:30pm, TFC M. J. Pitcher served a Circuit Court Warrant (T3-14979) on Cory Michael Anderson, 31, of Dameron. The warrant was issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County on June 3 with an original charge of Violation of Probation / Theft. Mr. Anderson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, June 9 at 1:00pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-14970) on John Fitzgerald Gross, 45, of Charlotte Hall. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Driving Without a License on June 1 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Gross was located in the 7500 block of Newman Drive in Charlotte Hall and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, June 9 at 11:21pm, TFC R. L. Jackson responded to the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Office in Leonardtown to arrest James Zolton Adam, 21, of Leonardtown for Possession of CDS. Mr. Adam was found to be in possession of CDS after a search incident to arrest in an unrelated investigation. Mr. Adam remained in the custody of BCI investigators until he was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
