LA PLATA, Md. (May 29, 2011)The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.
ROBBERY: On May 24 at 8:23 p.m., officers responded to JB Robinson at Mall Circle for the report of a robbery. Investigation showed the suspect entered the store and inquired about particular diamonds. After looking for about 10 minutes, he instructed one of the employees to empty two trays of diamonds into a bag. The suspect then showed the victim a handgun he had in his waistband. The suspect fled out of the exit next to Ruby Tuesday. The Forensic Science Unit responded and processed the scene for DNA and fingerprints. Anyone with information is asked to call Sgt. T. SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY: On May 25 at 9:40 p.m., officers responded to the 12500 block of Mirkwood Lane in Waldorf for the report of suspicious activity. Investigation revealed the victim, 53, was outside her home when a man in a dark-colored car, possibly a two-door sedan, drove up and asked for directions. As the woman approached the driver's side window, the man reached out and grabbed her hands and tried to pull her toward the car. The victim struggled with the man briefly and he fled. The only description the victim was able to provide is that the driver was an older white male. Anyone with information is asked to call (301) 932-2222. Officer W. Mayhew is investigating.
