Charles County Sheriff's Reports


LA PLATA, Md. (May 23, 2011)—The Charles County Sheriff's Office released the following incident and arrest reports.

VANDALISM/RRE: Between May 18 - May 19, an unknown suspect(s) spray painted a car in the 5000 block of Pupfish Court in Waldorf with orange spray paint. A racial slur was painted on the side of the car but did not appear to be directed at the victim who is Caucasian. Officers canvassed the area and did not observe any other vandalisms. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at (301) 932-2222.

TWO ARRESTED FOR TRESPASSING AND THEFT: On May 14 at 5:45 p.m., officers responded to the 9800 block of Morgantown Road in Newburg after receiving a complaint of a theft in progress. The witness said two suspects were on a boat in the area of Lower Cedar Point on the Potomac River and stealing crabs from crab traps that did not belong to them. James Everett Patterson, 44, and Dody Michelle Royer, 44, both of Newburg, were arrested after officers determined they trespassed on private property to launch their boat and stole about 2 bushels of crabs from traps that did not belong to them. Patterson and Royer were charged with trespassing and theft.

BURGLARY: Between May 16 - May 18, unknown suspects broke into a vacant house in the 3300 block of Malcolm Road and stole an air conditioning unit. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene for evidence.
