Elizabeth Ann Peters, 49, of Mechanicsville, was arrested after she allegedly tried to frame a male acquaintance using child porn. (Arrest photo)
Police say Peters contacted them on Monday, May 2, and made the allegations. She also provided police with copies of the child pornography, which according to her, she obtained from the acquaintance's computer.
Detectives with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) arranged a computer forensic analysis which was conducted by the Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Division. Police say the analysis confirmed Peters had downloaded the images from the internet and placed them on the digital media in an attempt to have false charges filed against the man, with whom she was engaged in a dispute.
Peters was subsequently arrested by BCI detectives and charged.
