Riddle earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland in 1983 and received her law degree from the University of Baltimore in 1987. While in law school, Riddle was appointed district court commissioner in Prince George’s County, Md. After being admitted to the bar in 1988, she joined the law offices of Handen & Krug in Prince Frederick. In 1992, Riddle was appointed assistant state’s attorney for Calvert County where she handled child support cases, juvenile cases and District Court, which gave her significant experience in traffic and misdemeanor criminal cases. She was subsequently appointed senior assistant state’s attorney and prosecuted felony cases.
In 1999 Riddle was appointed senior assistant state’s attorney in St. Mary’s County, Md., where she supervised the District Court division of the state’s attorney’s office. In 2000, she transferred to the Circuit Court division where she tried a variety of felony cases.
Riddle is a member of the Maryland Bar Association, the Calvert County Bar Association, the St. Mary’s Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Foundation, and past member of the Maryland State’s Attorney Association.
Cumberland & Erly, LLC was founded in 1981 and has been located in Prince Frederick since its inception.
