Four Men Found in Bay After Boat Capsized in Calvert Co.


CALVERT COUNTY, Md. (April 22, 2011) — Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) are investigating a boating accident that occurred near Breezy Point in the Chesapeake Bay today. Four people were located and transported to Calvert Memorial hospital. Three are in critical condition, one is in stable condition.

At 12:15 p.m., NRP received a call from Calvert County 911 about a vessel that had capsized near Buoy 79A in the Chesapeake Bay. The four known passengers of the vessel were located and brought to shore. The vessel is reported to be between 23 and 28 feet and has not yet been located. Responders included NRP, Maryland State Police aviation and Calvert Fire Department

The incident is still under investigation. Information is limited due to the critical nature of the victims.
