LEONARDTOWN, Md. (April 18, 2011) The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.
DRUG ARREST: On Tuesday, April 12 at 7:04 p.m., TFC M. A. Moore responded to the 21000 block of South Essex Drive in Lexington Park to serve an outstanding warrant on Leonard William Morehead, 40, of Lexington Park. Upon arrival Mr. Morehead was observed sitting on the front porch smoking, however, when he observed law enforcement personnel, he entered into the residence. Upon command, Mr. Morehead exited the residence and made contact with TFC Moore. A search incident to arrest revealed CDS - Marijuana in Mr. Morehead's possession. Mr. Morehead was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, April 15 at 11:35 a.m., TFC E. M. Evans served a Bench Warrant (T3-14895) on Adella Marie Ackerman, 43, of Great Mills. Ms. Ackerman was wanted for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. The warrant was issued on April 14 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Ms. Ackerman was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, April 16 at 1:01 a.m., TFC N. E. Gresko initiated a traffic stop on a blue Toyota Corolla in the area of Wildewood Park Way and Wildewood Boulevard for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, TFC Gresko detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the operator's breath. The operator, identified as Jesse Aaron Ward, 21, of Solomons, was asked to exit the vehicle to perform standardized field sobriety. Information provided by Mr. Ward revealed he was in possession of CDS - Oxycodone which had not been prescribed to him. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed Marijuana. Mr. Ward was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, April 17 at 12:49 a.m., TFC N. E. Gresko conducted a traffic stop on a maroon Chevrolet Silverado in the parking lot of the Quick Shop on Maryland Route 246 in Lexington Park for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator, TFC Gresko detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from his breath. The operator, identified as Alehandro Jerry Brown, 38, of Lexington Park, was asked to exit the vehicle to perform standardized field sobriety. Mr. Brown successfully passed all tests. However, an MVA query revealed that Mr. Brown did not have a valid license; the Georgia identification he provided was for identification purposes only and no driving privileges. Contact was made with a female occupant of the vehicle by TFC Gresko to determine if she was capable of operating the vehicle. While speaking with the female occupant, TFC Gresko observed in plain view a cellophane bag containing CDS. Ownership of the CDS was determined and Mr. Brown was subsequently arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Brown was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, April 17 at 10:45 p.m., TFC D. S. Brill served a Bench Warrant (T3-14881) on Eric W. Jenkins, 28, of Piney Point. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on April 5 with an original charge of False Statement to an Officer. Mr. Jenkins was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, April 18 at 12:45 a.m., Tpr. S. M. Ditoto served a Bench Warrant (T3-14893) on Shanae Elizabeth Dorsey, 20, of Leonardtown. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Malicious Destruction of Property on April 8 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Ms. Dorsey was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center for service and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
