MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (March 31, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY 4TH DEGREE: On Friday, March 25, 2011 at 8:27am, Tpr. R. L. Jackson responded to the 22000 block of Olde Hewitt Road in Lexington Park for a reported burglary. Upon arrival, Tpr. Jackson and Cpl. M. W. Laney observed a male subject flee the area as he observed them approaching. A pursuit ensued which resulted in the male subject being located and detained for questioning. The subject was identified as Sean Quincy Cissell, 20, of Lexington Park, and returned to the scene of burglary. Information provided by Mr. Cissell along with investigative discoveries revealed that Mr. Cissell gained access to the vacant residence with the use of a credit card and made use of the amenities available in the residence. Mr. Cissell was placed under arrest for Fourth Degree Burglary and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 10:45pm, TFC M. B. Adams located George Francis Butler, 60, of Mechanicsville, for service of an outstanding warrant. Mr. Butler was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was to be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. However, during intake procedures at the Detention Center a piece of paper fell from Mr. Butler's already logged property, revealing CDS - Crack Cocaine. Mr. Butler was additionally charged with CDS Possession. He was held at the St. Mary's County Detention Center pending the bond review.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, March 27, 2011 at 4:00pm, TFC N. E. Gresko, TFC E. J. Page and Tpr. E. T. Reuschling served multiple outstanding Circuit Court Warrants (T3-14863 / T3-14864) on Walter Harrison Nelson, Jr., 43, of Lexington Park. The warrants were issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County on March 24, 2011 with original charges of Driving Under the Influence, Driving On A Suspended License and Displaying Expired Registration Plates. Mr. Nelson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Monday, March 28, 2011 at 7:21pm, Cpl. F. Logsdon responded to a Check Welfare in the area of Maryland Route 243 at Merlin Way in Leonardtown. Upon arrival, Cpl. Logsdon observed a female sitting on the curb at the location. Contact was made with the female who advised she was in a verbal dispute with her boyfriend. Identification was provided by the female indicating that she was Katelyn Lee Beavers, 25, Leonardtown. A query through NCIC revealed that Ms. Beavers had two outstanding warrants through the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. Ms. Beavers was subsequently arrested; however, a search incident to arrest revealed that she was in possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia. Ms. Beavers was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center were she was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at 11:23am, TFC M. J. Pitcher responded to the 45000 block of Happyland Road in Valley Lee for a reported assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 35, of Valley Lee, who advised she was punched by a female juvenile, 15, of Valley Lee. Information provided by the complainant and the suspect, resulted in the arrest of the female juvenile for Second Degree Assault. The juvenile was transported to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack, where representatives from the Department of Juvenile Services responded to conduct intake procedures. The juvenile was charged and transported to the Waxter's Youth Facility in Laurel, Maryland pending further action by juvenile services.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 5:45am, TFC J. S. Gibson served a Bench Warrant (T3-14848) on Franklin R. Bumpers, 59, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on March 11, 2011 with an original charge of Driving While Impaired by Alcohol. Mr. Bumpers was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention for service. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
