PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (March 28, 2011)—The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of March 21 through March 27, deputies responded to 1,677 calls for service throughout the community.

DRUG ARREST: On March 25 at 2:30 a.m. DFC R. Kreps conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Md. Rt. 2 and Wayside Road in Sunderland. He found the driver to be in possession of suspected drugs. Kyle Brandon Butler, 21 of Owings, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and use of drug paraphernalia, two prescription bottles used to store marijuana.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Unknown suspect(s) used white paint to spray graffiti on Mills Creek Drive near the intersection of Harbor Road in Lusby causing $200 in damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC J. Morgan at 410-535-2800.

BURGLARY: A home on Cayuse Circle in Lusby was burglarized sometime between March 18 and 25. Nothing appears to have been stolen but $50 in damage was done to a window. DFC J. Morgan is investigating.

DRUG ARREST: On March 25 at 7:24 p.m. Dep. J. Parsons conducted a traffic stop on Md. Rt. 261 and 31st Street in Chesapeake Beach. He found the driver, identified as Paul Robert Hayward, 53 of North Beach, to be in possession of suspected drugs. He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a smoking device.

DRUG ARREST: Two suspects were arrested for forging prescriptions on March 26 at 3:30 p.m. by Dep. M. Economes at the Lusby Walgreen's. An employee of the store advised that a woman presented a fraudulent prescription to the pharmacist for a friend who was outside waiting in a vehicle. The woman left the store and got into the vehicle and fled the scene. She was observed on Southern Connector Blvd. and was stopped by Cpl. A. Moschetto. Dep. Economes responded to the location and arrested both women. Ashley R. Merkle, 21 of Hollywood and Patricia A. Bates, 27 of Park Hall, were both charged with attempting to obtain a controlled dangerous substance, Oxycodone, by uttering a forged prescription and unlawfully attempting to obtain Oxycodone by uttering a forged prescription.

DRUG ARREST: On March 26 at 4:47 p.m. Dep. S. Esposito conducted a traffic stop on Plum Point Road at Kimberly Lane in Huntingtown. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for possession of suspected drugs. John Calvin Howes, Jr., 45 of Owings, was charged with possession of marijuana in sufficient quantity to indicate an intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a smoking device.

BURGLARY: A home on Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick was burglarized and over $3000 worth of items was stolen including a Makita saw and drill, a Honda pressure washer, a Craftsman metric tool set and numerous other tools. The homeowner advised that the last time she saw the items was in November. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC P. Woods at 410-535-2800.

THEFT: Three juveniles were arrested and charged on youth reports after they were caught stealing a boat and a dog from Abner's Marina in Chesapeake Beach on March 27 at about 7:00 p.m. The dog owner advised Dep. J. Parsons that he observed the 3 males near a small boat that his dog was sitting in. A marina employee advised that the small boat belonged to him. All three 14 year old males, two from Chesapeake Beach and one from North Beach, were charged with theft on a youth report and released to a parent.
