Calvert County Sheriff's Reports


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (March 7, 2011)—The Calvert County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WEEKLY SUMMARY: During the week of February 28 through March 6, deputies responded to 1,694 calls for service throughout the community.

DRUG ARREST: On March 1 at 7:48 p.m. DFC R. Weems conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the St. Leonard Fastop. The driver, later identified as Timothy Edward Garner, 36 of Port Republic, was found to be in possession of suspected drugs. He was arrested and charged with possession of Methadone.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Unknown person(s) caused $600 in damage to the fence and tennis courts at the Victoria Station recreation area in Owings on March 2. DFC D. Deakins is investigating.

BURGLARY: Unknown suspect(s) burglarized Calvert Self Storage on Calvert Beach Road in St. Leonard sometime overnight between March 3 and 4. A small amount of cash was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Steve Jones of C.I.T. at 410-535-2800.

BURGLARY: A home on Bonanza Trail in Lusby was burglarized sometime between February 4 and March 4. The suspect(s) caused $600 in damage to the door of the home. Nothing appears to have been stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC J. Lord at 410-535-2800.

DRUG ARREST: On March 4 at 8:45 p.m. DFC T. Rickard conducted a traffic stop on Gray's Road near Cypress Swamp and Sixes Road in St. Leonard. The driver, later identified as Kevin Lynn Belcher, Jr., 32 of Dunkirk, was found to be in possession of suspected drugs. He was arrested and charged with possession of Oxycodone, possession of Clonazepam, possession of Marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a pipe.

DRUG ARREST: Dep. A. Mohler stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on March 5 at 1:58 a.m. in the parking lot of the Prince Frederick 7-11 convenience store on Church Street. He found the driver and two passengers to be in possession of suspected drugs. Jason Matthew Hood, 24 of Lothian, Andrew Embrey Lee Smith, 24 of Lothian and Lea Marie Foster, 25 of Huntingtown, were each charged with possession of marijuana. Foster was also charged with possession of Adderall, a schedule II drug.

BURGLARY: Dep. C. Waldron is investigating the burglary of a home on Thunderbird Drive in Lusby that occurred sometime between March 2 and 5. The culprit(s) caused $1400 in damage but nothing appears to have been taken.

BURGLARY: Someone entered the shed of a home on Kerry Anne Lane in Owings sometime between February 19 and March 5 and stole $2000 worth of tools and a bicycle. Some of the items stolen include 2 Snap-on pneumatic impact guns, a Nitro impact gun, several DeWalt tools and a white Huffy 24 inch bicycle with black decals and black spoked wheels. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dep. N. Funchion at j410-535-2800.

DRUG ARREST: On March 6 at 3:18 a.m. DFC R. Kreps conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Safeway parking lot in Prince Frederick. He found the driver, later identified as Michael Joseph Gonzales, 18 of Huntingtown, to be in possession of suspected drugs and arrested him and charged him with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia, a metal pipe.

DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY: Two mailboxes on Ivory Lane in Port Republic appear to have been run over by a vehicle causing $400 in damage. Anyone with information is asked to contact DFC J. Dean at 410-535-2800.
