MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (February 22, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, February 12, 2011 at 3:11 am, Cpl. F. B. Logsdon initiated a traffic stop on Lincoln Avenue in Lexington Park on a black Volkswagen for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator, Roneika Ann Smoot, 22, of Lexington Park, it was determined that field sobriety test was needed. Ms. Smoot was ultimately arrested for Driving Under the Influence. A search incident to arrest revealed that Ms. Smoot was in possession of marijuana. Ms. Smoot was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing and later transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Sunday, February 13, 2011 at 1:02 am, TFC E. M. Evans initiated a traffic stop on a green Chrysler van for a traffic violation in the area of Maryland Route 235 and Town Creek Drive in California. Upon making contact with the operator, Tonya Renee Thompson, 30, of Lexington Park, TFC Evans detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath. Standardized Field Sobriety was performed and Ms. Thompson was subsequently arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Following the arrest of Ms. Thompson, a MILES/NCIC query was ran on the passenger, Shawn Christopher Henderson, 30, of Ridge, revealing that Mr. Henderson had an outstanding warrant through the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Department. A search of the vehicle following the arrest of both occupants revealed CDS - Not Marijuana on the floorboard between the driver and passenger seats. Ms. Thompson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly. Mr. Henderson was also transported to the St. Mary's County Detention, where a secondary search revealed additional CDS on Mr. Henderson's person. Both subjects were held at the Detention Center pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Monday, February 14, 2011 at 4:43 pm, TFC M. J. Pitcher initiated a traffic stop in the 22000 block of Three Notch Road in Lexington Park on a green Toyota Camry for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with Jamie Lee Rose Emory, 18, of Tall Timbers, TFC Pitcher detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Information provided by Ms. Emory resulted in a probable cause search of the vehicle, which revealed marijuana. Ms. Emory was arrested for Possession of Marijuana and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Monday, February 14, 2011 at 7:34 pm, Tpr. S. M. Ditoto stopped to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of a closed business in the 27000 block of Budds Creek Road in Mechanicsville. Upon making contact with the vehicle, which was occupied multiple times, Tpr. Ditoto detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted, revealing that the front passenger, Antonio Lamar Clark, 19, of Clements, was in possession of CDS. The other occupants were released on scene, while Mr. Clark was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Clark was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 10:01 am, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling responded to the 40000 block of Dockser Drive in Mechanicsville for a reported assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 48, of Mechanicsville who advised she was involved in a verbal dispute and assaulted by David Llyod Anderson, 21, of Mechanicsville. According to the complainant, Mr. Anderson fled the scene prior to police arrival. With the assistance of an Emergency Communication Center broadcast, Mr. Anderson was located by Deputies north of the residence. Tpr. Reuschling responded to the location where Mr. Anderson was detained and received further information on the incident. Mr. Anderson was subsequently arrested for Second Degree Assault and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, February 18, 2011 at 2:33 pm, Sgt. S. B. Koch served an Arrest Warrant (T3-14802) on Trevis Butler, 29, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued for Mr. Butler's arrest on February 16, 2011 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was First Degree Assault. Mr. Butler was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, February 18, 2011 at 5:35 pm, Sgt. S. B. Koch served an Arrest Warrant (T3-14804) on Tyreke Delonte Butler, 19, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on February 16, 2011 with an original charge of First Degree Assault. Mr. Butler was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, February 20, 2011 at 1:13 pm, TFC M. A. Moore served a Bench Warrant (T3-14806) on Izella E. Bush, 42, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for the arrest of Mr. Bush on February 16, 2011 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was Second Degree Assault. Mr. Bush was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
