Local Government Schedule Changes for President's Day, Feb. 21


SOUTHERN MARYLAND (February 17, 2011) — Local governments announced closings and schedule changes for Monday, February 21, in observance of Presidents Day.

CALVERT COUNTY GOVERNMENT

All Calvert County government offices will be closed Monday, February 21.

The Calvert Pines, Southern Pines and North Beach senior centers will be closed February 21. Meals on Wheels will be delivered to clients.

All Calvert Library locations will be closed Monday, February 21.

There will be no public transportation services February 21. Regular schedules will resume on Tuesday, February 22.

All Solid Waste facilities will be open and operating on normal business hours on Monday, February 21.

ST. MARY'S COUNTY GOVERNMENT

St. Mary's County Government offices and all three St. Mary's County Libraries will be closed on Monday in observance of Presidents Day. Offices and libraries will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, February 22.

The St. Andrews Landfill and six St. Mary's County Convenience Centers and the St. Mary's Transit Service (STS) will be operating normal business hours on Monday, February 21.

All Department of Aging Senior Activity Centers will be closed and there will be no Meals On Wheels delivery.

TOWN OF LA PLATA

The La Plata Town Hall will be closed on Monday, February 21. There will be no trash pick up or yard waste pick up. Trash pick up for Monday will be Tuesday, Feb. 22.

MTA COMMUTER SERVICES

There is no commuter bus service on Presidents' Day. The schedule for other MTA services on President's Day is available at mta.maryland.gov/Presidents_Holiday_Schedule.cfm.
