MSP Reports for Calvert County


PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. (February 15, 2011)—The Prince Frederick Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 2/7/11 at 2:21 pm, Trooper First Class Evans stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 231 at Skipjack Road in Prince Frederick. The odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed that the driver, Gerald Mayhew, Jr., 40 of Prince Frederick, and the rear seat passenger, James Staley, 44 of Waldorf, were in possession of marijuana and they were placed under arrested. They were incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN: On 2/9/11 at 1:12 pm, Trooper First Class Lewis stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Route 260, west of Route 261 in Chesapeake Beach. During the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle was conducted and the driver, Sarah Ward, 21 of Owings, was found to be in possession of Heroin. She was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 2/9/11 at 2:30 pm, Trooper First Class Evans stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Thunderbird Drive at Lariat Lane in Lusby. During the traffic stop, a search of the vehicle revealed that the driver, Davon Wagner, 20 of Lusby, and the passenger, Christine Bowersox, 20 of Lusby, were both in possession of marijuana. They were arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY AND THEFT OF PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION: On 2/9/11 at 10:13 pm, Trooper West responded to the 5600 block of Eucalyptus Street in St. Leonard for a reported theft of prescription medication. An unlocked front door was entered and prescription medication was stolen from the bathroom.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT: On 2/10/11 at 8:53 am, Trooper First Class Lewis responded to the 7100 block of Decoy Drive in Owings, for a reported vehicle theft. A 2001 silver Volkswagon Cabrio was stolen from the victim's driveway. Investigation continues.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 2/11/11 at 12:44 am, Trooper West stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Thomas Johnson Road at the Thomas Johnson Bridge in Solomons. The odor of marijuana was detected and a search revealed that the driver, Latasha Armstrong, 24 of Lexington Park, was in possession of Marijuana. She was arrested and incarcerated at the Calvert County Detention Center.

BURGLARY: On 2/12/11 at 12:40 am, Trooper First Class Bender responded to the 12800 block of Rio Grande Trail in Lusby for a reported burglary. Suspects entered the front door of an occupied residence and then fled when seen by the homeowner. Investigation continues.

BURGLARY AND THEFT: On 2/13/11 at 2:29 pm, Trooper Esnes responded to the 600 block of Skyview Drive in Lusby for a reported burglary and theft. A garage was entered and a Craftsman portable air compressor was stolen. Investigation continues.
