LEONARDTOWN, Md. (February 12, 2011)The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.
DEATH THREATS AT CSM: On February 3, officers responded to the College of Southern Maryland Campus in Leonardtown for a disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies learned Bulasio Mutyaba Mukiibi, 19, of Great Mills, was in the Student Services Office when he became upset and began making threats. He exited the office after being asked to leave but was later observed by school staff in the lobby pointing his finger at several students making a gun sound and stating "I'm going to kill you." Mukiibi was escorted from the campus grounds by law enforcement. Mukiibi was served with a Criminal Summons on February 8 charging him with Disorderly Conduct (CR 10-201 ((c)(2)) and Disturbance of a School Operation (ED 26 101). At the time he was served the Criminal Summons for the charges stemming from the incident at CSM, he was arrested on a District Court Bench Warrant for failing to appear in court on an unrelated charge.
SHOPLIFTING AT WAL-MART: On February 8, Cpl. Jason Maletto responded to the Wal-Mart in California for a reported theft. Deputy Maletto learned Deborah Jeanne Laquay, 50, of Lexington Park, was observed by store staff concealing merchandise in bags. She was confronted while trying to exit the business and $490.30 of merchandise was recovered. Laquay was charged on a criminal citation for theft and released pending her court date.
REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER ARREST: On February 11, members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations Sex Offenders Unit and Domestic Violence Unit conducted a joint investigation into the residency of registered sex offender Tyreke Kenyatta Cutchember, age 35. Cutchember is a classified as a sexually violent offender and is required to register as such for life. Cutchember last registered a residency in Prince Georges County in 2002. The investigation revealed Cutchember had been living at a residence in California for a number of months and had not registered his new address as required by law. A search warrant was executed at the California residence and detectives located Cutchember. Cutchember was arrested and charged with failing to register.
