MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (January 31, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, January 24 at 7:30 pm, TFC D. S. Brill served a bench warrant (T3-14756) on Jennifer Lynne Lucas, 25, of Prince Frederick. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on January 20 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Ms. Lucas was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Monday, January 24 at 10:15 pm, TFC J. S. Gibson served a bench warrant (T3-14742) on Richard Anthony Phillip Hobbs, 22, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued for Mr. Hobbs arrest on January 11 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charge was Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol. Mr. Hobbs was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, January 25 at 11:15 am, Tpr. S. M. Ditoto served a fugitive arrest warrant (T3-14709) on Barbara Lynn Anderson, 42, of Lexington Park. Ms. Anderson is a Fugitive from Justice for Florida on charges stemming from a Violation of Probation and Larceny. Ms. Anderson was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and will be held pending extradition.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE ON A POLICE OFFICER: On January 25 at 1:40 pm, Sgt. J. S. Jones initiated a traffic stop on a green Ford in the area of Maryland Route 242 for a traffic violation. Upon activating emergency equipment to conduct the stop, the vehicle turned off onto a private driveway in the 23000 block of Colton's Point Road. As the driver stopped in the driveway, he exited to the vehicle and proceeded towards a nearby trailer. The driver, later identified as Harry Roderick Derricote, 43, of Colton's Point, was instructed by Sgt. Jones to return to his vehicle and provide identification. Mr. Derricote who was extremely combative, refused to follow the verbally issued commands. Following additional commands that were ignored, Sgt. Jones attempted to place Harry Derricote under arrest for Failure to Obey a Lawful Order, at which time he was assaulted. Mr. Derricote subsequently fled the scene on foot. A foot pursuit ensued, along with a perimeter established by incoming patrol unit. Mr. Derricote was apprehended upon trying to exit the wooded area he fled into. Mr. Derricote was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Tuesday, January 25 at 9:45 pm, TFC A. J. Malaspina served a bench warrant (T3-14754) on Tina Louise Babcock, 27, of Callaway. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on January 20 with an original charge of Theft Less Than $100.00. Ms. Babcock was served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, January 26 at 1:45 am, Tpr. R. L. Jackson and Tpr. S. M. Morton served two outstanding bench warrants (T3-14761 / T3-14762) on Antwuan Marquis Somerville, 21, of Lexington Park. The warrants were issued on January 25 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with original charges of Failing to Follow Conditions of Probation and Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Somerville was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, January 26 at 7:00 pm, TFC J. R. Stern served a warrant T3-14613) on Robert Cameron May, 22, of Crandon, Wisconsin. The warrant was issued for Mr. May on October 25, 2010 by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment for Sex Abuse of a Minor. Mr. May was extradited from Crandon, Wisconsin and served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center upon arrival. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Wednesday, January 26 at 9:22 pm, Tpr. E. R. Mersman responded to the 22000 block of Three Notch Road in California for a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 20, of Great Mills, who advised she was assaulted by a male subject following an argument in a residence in 22000 block of Macon Court in Great Mills. Upon responding to the residence on Macon Court, Tpr. Mersman made contact with the male suspect, Todd Conley Gray, 23, of Great Mills. Following statements given by the female complainant, Mr. Gray and a witness, as well as physical evidence that was observed, Tpr. Mersman arrested Todd Gray for Second Degree Assault. Mr. Gray was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Thursday, January 27 at 12:43 pm, TFC M. J. Pitcher conducted a traffic stop on a blue Saturn in the area of Maryland Route 235, south of South Sandgates Road. Upon making contact with the operator, TFC Pitcher detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search of the vehicle and its occupants revealed CDS on the passenger, Ian Benjamin Millis, 27, of Waldorf. Mr. Millis was arrested for Possession of CDS - Marijuana, and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center. Mr. Millis was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Thursday, January 27 at 2:00 pm, Tpr. J. C. Hardesty served a bench warrant (T3-14757) on David Brian Hammett, Jr., 29, of Piney Point. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on January 19 with an original charge of Unauthorized Removal of Property. Mr. Hammett was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, January 28 at 10:20 am, TFC M. J. Pitcher served a warrant (T3-14766) issued by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County on Tyrone Jason Heard, 29, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued as a result of a Grand Jury Indictment for Con - Armed Robbery on December 28, 2010. Mr. Heard was served at the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was previously incarcerated.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, January 28 at 4:37 pm, Tpr. E. R. Mersman served a bench warrant (T3-14743) on Kerry Randall Jones, 44, of Leonardtown. The warrant was issued on January 11 by the District Court of St. Mary's County with an original charge of Knowingly Driving An Uninsured Vehicle. Mr. Jones was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Saturday, January 29 at 2:00 am, TFC N. E. Gresko served a bench warrant (T3-14769) on Daniel Alan Soto, 24, of Alexandria, Virginia. The warrant was issued by the District Court of Charles County on July 16, 2009 with an original charge of Driving On A Suspended License. Mr. Soto was apprehended during the course of a traffic stop. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

DRUG ARREST: On Saturday, January 29 at 3:27 am, TFC N. E. Gresko conducted a traffic stop on a silver Dodge Neon in the parking lot of St. John's Church for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the vehicle, TFC Gresko detected the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Gary Lawrence Greinert, Jr., 30, of no fixed address, and advised that a probable cause search of the vehicle would be conducted. Mr. Greinert was asked to exit the vehicle, at which time he became irate and combative. He was detained while the search was conducted for officer safety. The probable cause search revealed various form of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Greinert was notified that he was being placed under arrest for Possession of CDS and CDS Paraphernalia. Mr. Greinert was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where he was charged accordingly and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
