MSP Reports for St. Mary's County


LEONARDTOWN, Md. (January 10, 2011)—The Leonardtown Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest reports.

BURGLARY: On Monday, January 3 at 7:53 am, Tpr. B. T. Wiesemann responded to the 29000 block of Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall for a reported theft. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male complainant, 49, of Mechanicsville, who advised between Friday, December 31, 2010 and 7:30 am on Monday, January 3, an unknown subject entered the business establishment and stole approximately $11,000.00 worth of metal. Any information pertaining to this case can be forwarded to the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack.

IDENTITY THEFT: On Wednesday, January 5 at 9:35 am, Tpr. S. M. Morton initiated a traffic stop on a silver Ford Focus for a traffic violation. Upon making contact with the operator, a name and date of birth was provided without proper documentation. A MVA query and image request on the name and date of birth provided did not match the physical attributes of the driver. Further contact with the driver revealed that the operator, Catherine Renee Hopewell, 50, of Lexington Park, provided a family member's name initially to avoid prosecution for driving without a license. Ms. Hopewell was arrested and transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center where she was charged accordingly. She was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

VIOLATION OF PROTECTIVE ORDER: On Wednesday, January 5 at 2:56 pm, Tpr. E. T. Reuschling responded to the Burger King on Worth Ave in California for a reported violation of protective order. Upon arrival, contact was made with the protected person, 50, of Lexington Park, who advised Lisa Dawn Darr, 40, of Lexington Park, was in violation of the guidelines set forth in the protective order. Ms. Darr followed the victim to multiple locations thereby violating the order. Trooper Reuschling verified the expiration and guidelines of the protective order issued by the District Court and ultimately placed Ms. Darr under arrest. Ms. Darr was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Wednesday, January 5 at 3:00 pm, TFC N. E. Gresko served a bench warrant (T3-14730) on Ohmer W. Webb, 27, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary's County on December 29, 2010 with an original charge of Driving Under the Influence. Mr. Webb was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

ASSAULT 2ND DEGREE: On Thursday, January 6 at 8:00 am, TFC M. A. Moore responded to the 46000 block of Leesa Court in Lexington Park for a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival, contact was made with a female complainant, 28, of Lexington Park, outside of the residence. The complainant advised she was originally engaged in a verbal argument with Danny James Dunn, 28, of Lexington Park, when she was physically assaulted. She also advised Mr. Dunn had left the scene prior to police arrival. Further investigation into the complaint revealed that Mr. Dunn was in the residence. Mr. Dunn was cooperative with the investigation and arrested for Second Degree Assault. He was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Friday, January 7 at 12:01 am, TFC J. A. Pilkerton AND Tpr. S. M. Ditoto served two outstanding bench warrants (T3-14720 / T3-14721) on Donald Sheldon Strickland, 31, of Great Mills. Both warrants were issued on December 22, 2010 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. The original charges were CDS Possession - Marijuana and Driving While Impaired by Drugs or Alcohol. Mr. Strickland was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.

WARRANT SERVICE: On Sunday, January 9 at 11:28 am, Tpr. E. R. Mersman served an arrest warrant (T3-14703) on Bruce Adam Spell, 55, of Lexington Park. The warrant was issued with an original charge of Second Degree Assault on December 7, 2010 by the District Court of St. Mary's County. Mr. Spell was transported to the St. Mary's County Detention Center and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
