LA PLATA, Md. (December 29, 2010)The Charles County Sheriff's Office recently released the following incident and arrest reports.
COPPER WIRE STOLEN: On December 28 at 9 a.m., officers responded to the area of Blossom Point Road and Brentland Road in Port Tobacco for the report of a theft. Investigation revealed unknown suspects climbed an electrical pole and stole about 4,000 feet of copper wire which was supported between two poles. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene.
Sheriff Rex Coffey said criminals will do just about anything nowadays to steal metals. Thieves are so brazen, they often don't try to hide what they're doing and they get away with it because they look like they belong there. A cash reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for the tip that leads to the arrest and indictment of a suspect.
THEFT OF APPLIANCES FROM HOME UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Between December 23 - December 27, unknown suspects entered a house under construction in the 3700 block of Wallingford Court in Waldorf and stole a microwave and a gas range. Officers processed the scene for evidence.
BURGLARY: On December 21 between 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., unknown suspects broke into a house in the 200 block of Susan Drive in Indian Head and stole several firearms. Officers canvassed the area and processed the scene for evidence.
