LEONARDTOWN, Md. (December 7, 2010)The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office today released the following incident and arrest reports.
DRUG ARREST: On December 6 at approximately 1:30 a.m., Deputy Flelage stopped a 1992 Ford Taurus in the area of Maryland Route 5 and Baptist Church Road in Mechanicsville. The operator of the vehicle Paul Eugene Farmer, 58 of Bryantown, had committed a traffic violation. Further investigation revealed Farmer was not licensed to operate a motor vehicle. As Deputy Flelage spoke to Farmer, he could detect an odor of an alcoholic beverage upon Farmer's breath and person. Farmer was given a standard field sobriety test. As a result of the test, Farmer was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol. A search incident to Farmer's arrest revealed he was in possession of a smoking device containing suspected crack cocaine residue. Farmer was charged with possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: On December 6, deputies responded to a residence on Cedar Lane Road in Leonardtown for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Evans Milton Fletcher, 93 of Leonardtown, was engaged in a verbal dispute with the victim which escalated into a physical assault with Fletcher struck the victim in the face. Fletcher was arrested and charged with second degree assault.
