OWINGS MILLS, Md. (December 7, 2010)-Maryland Public Television (MPT) will offer a sneak peek at its newest series, Chesapeake Collectibles, on December 12 at the Holiday Open House of St. Mary's County Historical Society in Leonardtown.
Premiering January 8, Chesapeake Collectibles is a weekly series that explores the area's rich history through its treasures, its people and their stories.
Each half-hour episode will feature Marylanders discussing the cultural or historical significance of their cherished items with antiques experts. Filmed at MPT's studios and on location across the state, the series is hosted by Rhea Feikin (ArtWorks This Week, Impressions).
Attendees at the December 12 Holiday Open House may tour the historic 18th century Tudor Hall and its exhibits from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. At 3 p.m., Chesapeake Collectibles Assistant Producer Patrick Ridgely will present a short excerpt from the new series and entertain audience questions.
The open house will be held at 41680 Tudor Place in Leonardtown.
Chesapeake Collectibles will air on MPT Saturdays at 6:30 p.m., beginning January 8, and repeat Thursdays at 8 p.m.
