Three Men Charged with Jacklighting Deer in Calvert Co.


ANNAPOLIS (December 1, 2010)—The Maryland Natural Resources Police (NRP) today released the following incident and arrest report. NRP is the enforcement arm of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR). NRP is the only police force aside from the Maryland State Police that has statewide jurisdiction.

JACKLIGHTING DEER, LOADED WEAPON: On November 22 at 7:15 p.m., NRP charged Anthony James Cullember, 38, from Shadyside, Md.; Jerome Owen Cullember, 41 from Deale, Md.; and Patrick Arthur Hand, 62 from Huntington, Md. with casting the rays of light with a weapon in possession (jacklighting) and possessing a loaded weapon in a vehicle. NRP charged the subjects after officers observed them shooting at a deer in the area of Holland Cliffs Road, near Huntington. Officers seized a loaded 30-06 Ruger rifle, a Remington 1100 shotgun, a spotlight and a whitetail deer.
