LA PLATA, Md. (December 1, 2010)—The La Plata Barrack of the Maryland State Police (MSP) today released the following incident and arrest report.
TRANSPORTING HANDGUN: On November 25 at approximately 9:22 a.m., TFC B. Sorenson was clearing a traffic stop on northbound Route 301, north of Acton Lane, when he observed a black Toyota Camry with both occupants not restrained by a seat belt. TFC Sorenson stopped the vehicle and made contact with the driver Antonio Lynn Foster, 27, and his passenger Scott A Smith, 21, both of Waldorf, when he detected an odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed the driver’s correct name was Davon Jonquell Efford. Efford and Smith were charged with transporting a handgun (black .9mm Springfield XD semiautomatic) in a vehicle upon the public roads, highways, and parking lots generally used by the public.
